I was never allowed to listen to music at work before, because I was always in a cube... but now I share an office with another admin, and we signed up for Launchcast Plus through Yahoo

I now have access to the "Hair Flare" and "Power Ballads" stations and we have been rocking out to Poison, Warrant, Skid Row, Def Leppard et. al. for the whole morning.

It just puts me into a much better mood at work... wish I could have done this in my last job. Are you allowed to listen to music at work?

I used to listen to that too Missy! At my old job, I had that Launchcast and listened all the time. But that was a very small office.

My new job is a huge corporation and they said we can't listen to music on our computers (throught the internet), something about taking to much space or causing network problems. But they let me play my radio/CD player at my desk, even though I'm at the front desk.

If I couldn't listen to music or talk radio during the day I'd go crazy. It helps so much.

I can listen to XM at work but I'm not chancing O&A in my office... I do work for a large corporation that frowns on streaming music over the internet, but the IT guy gave me the proxy so I can.

I've been dyin all morning - they play the awesomest 80's hair band songs on this channel... right now we have Wait by White Lion, before we had Heaven by Warrant

i work nights so i can listen, but i prefer low volumes... our desktop guys once had a server with 80gig(and growing) of music on it and they gave me access. there was always something you liked and you could add your own tunes on it. then security got too tight and they had to take it off the network

I am a chiropractor in an office with physical therapists,
acupuncturists and medical doctors. Most of my patients are hispanic
and they wouldn't understand the language used in my brand of humor,
but I still must be cautious. I primarily listen to my MP3 player which
is filled with recent O&A and R&F shows (AFRO on my iriver) as
well as various podcasts and all the music I can shake a stick at. I
keep the tunes on speakers low, skip over the louder songs, but when
the talk shows are on, I am all about the earbuds. If patients come in,
i just hit the pause button.

My internet is via proxy at work, so no streaming yahoo or XM. So I listen to O&A and R&F via my walkman at work, I use headphones, because I can't play it loud enough to hear with all these squares around...

The way my office is, we're all in a wide open area with
desks. Not quite cubicles, but we have our own workspaces.
I usually listen to XM Online with headphones, so I catch O&A until
the replay gets to the part I started at then flip to a music station.

During the server migration here, I just played O&A out the speakers at night.

Back in the day, I listened to WNEW talk (Radio Chick, O&A, R&F) on headphones while I was at work. It made the day go by so fast
