Renaming Links [Archive] - RonFez.net Messageboard

Can someone tell me how to rename a link? Like, instead of it saying <a href="http://somekindacraporwhatever/">http://somekindacraporwhatever</a> , it would say click here.

I have yet to figure out that myself, and I saw in another thread that somone described it, but it was very unclear.  A step by step would be helpful Mods.Also, on my toolbar, the link and unlink buttons are dim unless I highlight something.  Could that has something to do with it?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know how to do this. I don't feel so ignorant, now. Mikeyboy knows how to do it (judging from his amazing abillity to bring us the links that keep us all happy).  Maybe he'll see this, and help us out. Please guide us, oh masterfull one!!!

I do it the old fashioned way, because I cant make heads or tails of the new tools. NOTE Substitute [ for { (if I use the right one, I'm making a link) 
Type         {url=Then paste in your web addressThen Type         }Your Message{/url}

type the prompt, Yahoo! ... hi-lite the text so it looks like this Yahoo! ... then click this <img class="mceButtonDown" onmouseover="tinyMCE.switchClass(this,'mceButtonOver');" title="Insert/edit link" onmouseout="tinyMCE.restoreClass(this);" height="20" src="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/images/link.gif" width="20" border="0" /> button on the toolbar (it's the 12th reading from left to right on the second bar), in the dialog box paste/type the URL and click [insert]<a target="_blank" href="http://www.yahoo.com/">Yahoo!</a>
