I need some advise

my husband (we are not actually married) but committed and living together.

Issue # 1 - he won't marry me because his previous 2 marriages didn't work out. Here is the issue

his 31 year old daughter is making herself and her 26 year old brother a birthday dinner. She wants the family there and specifically requested that her step mother (wife # 2) be invited and that I not come - well I have agreed to this scenerio for the past 3 christmases, birthdays of all 3 kids, etc - but I now feel enough is enough - and that I either be invited or my husband doesn't go. I know his daughter feels badly and we are invited to her house for dinner tonight - but I do not feel comfortable about going - any advise - please

Thanks

HOLY SHIT is that a lot of stuff to deal with. My favorite is:

Issue # 1 - he won't marry me because his previous 2 marriages didn't work out. Here is the issue

Advice? Nope, sorry. I'm worrying about getting shows for my band and other things like that. I don't have NEARLY as many problems.

quote: Issue # 1 - he won't marry me because his previous 2 marriages didn't work out. Here is the issue
As Anthony of O&A has said a bunch of times: "Why would you marry again after a divorce" This guy gave it 2 shots and it's not working. I wouldn't expect him to change his mind. If you need to get married you'll need to find a different guy.

Don't take it as an insult to you. Some people just shouldn't be married, and this guy sounds like he thinks he is one of those people.

Issue # 2 Family comes first (as said before) and as with Issue #1 if you can't get over it, then this isn't the guy for you.

his 31 year old daughter is making herself and her 26 year old brother a birthday dinner. She wants the family there and specifically requested that her step mother (wife # 2) be invited and that I not come - well I have agreed to this scenerio for the past 3 christmases, birthdays of all 3 kids,

Is wife #1 the mother of the 31 year old daughter? If Wife #2 is her step-mother and she wants her there, then it doesn't sound like a strictly Family-only deal. Do you and the daughter not get along for some reason? I could understand her just wanting family there.

Either way it sounds like a bad scene, I'd move on.

tough situation and no perfect solution... may be best not to fight it. just let your man know how you feel and let him decide

and when he goes to the party make sure you got a sugardaddy waiting in the wings...

quote: family comes first

I have to agree. Although I will say this, the birthday thing I understand, the Christmas deal is a bit harsh though. Are you saying you don't spend christmas with your partner and his kids are adults? Can't he at least split up his time a little? But the birthday thing I get. Let them have their time there.
