<a href="http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/main/index.asp">http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/main/index.asp</a> A friend at work told me about this place, so the bf I and made a little trip to Rye over the weekend.  Has anybody gone to one of these places?   They have their own special creations that they make when you order, or you order the ice cream and what you want mixed into it.  They grab a scoop of the ice cream and mash in whatever goodies you want included.  I got a scoop of italian raspberry sorbet with brownie, and the bf got dolce de leche...it had honey, cinnamon and caramel in it.

Carvel is fuckin nasty. most of the ice cream places by me are nsaty.
the best ones are like non franchise like this place van dykes in
ridgewood, and thats not even that good

Cold Stone rules. Everytime I'm in the city I have to stop there to get
Mint Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip. Mint Chocolate icecream with
brownies and chocolate syrup mixed in. delicious. Oh and Van Dykes is
pretty good.they serve homemade ice cream. thats right near my house

I first went to one of those when I was done in Wilmington NC a few years ago.They rock.The just built one up here in Mahopac ( Westchester/Putnam border ).It looks smaller than the ones I've seen previoulsy.

As much as I loathe Starbucks, I give them props for inspiring other
upscale places to open. Like Cold Stone, Quizno's, Chipotle, Noodle's
and Company, Moe's Southwest Grille, Panera Bread, etc. I swear I walk
into every place and it has that whole Starbuck's style layout. I
really need to check out The Cold Stone though. I have heard so many
good things.

Cold Stone's ice cream is really good. In a few that I've gone into the people that work there will all greet you when you walk in the door with a thunderous "WELCOME TO COLD STONES" which is a little odd. Though it gets odder when you throw a tip their way. They all break into song. I like to tip them just to see them sing uncomfortably because I can tell that most of them are just there because it's a job, they're not there to sing and now they gotta sing these corny songs so for me it's just funny to watch them cringe when I throw a buck at them and make them sing. The ice cream is really good. Also, have them add in a fresh baked brownie into the icre cream, it's really good.

I thought it was ok, but the bill was 11 bucks for two "small" cones! The problem is the small size is at LEAST a pint of ice cream, and it gets bigger with all the other junk mixed in. I barely got through half of it and had to toss it. Waste of money. Also, with all that manipulation of the ice cream it's half melted when they finally get it into the cone. That's kinda gross.

I love this place!  The last time I went there I had the Mud Pie Mojo.  They mashed in a scoop of peanut butter and a brownie, amongst other things.

Just went last night in South Orange!  I have my own creation that makes women flock to my bowl.  I call it "Asian Shortcake".  It's that crazy cake batter ice cream, mixed with yellow cake (fresh), and extremely fresh strawberrys.  Every once in a while I bring in a few of my own extras to add.  The above creation is great with candy cigs mixed in.  The people think I'm nuts when I come in with my own toppings.  But when you add nerds to ice cream, it's sooooo worth it!

The icecreams really good and its cool watching they cool it down on that cold slab and stuff.  Very expensive but the place is a girl magnet.  Between the sweet smell, and the guys singing and stuff, it is def. a place to take a girl when on a date.  I gut the vanilla with carmel and mint with chocolate chip all chopped up togther, even with peanut butter once!  Mmmmmmm... Im starvin!

They do have really good Icecream, There are 3 shops near where I live and the are always packed, I wont go to 1 anymore because of all the singing and crap, When you tip they sing this crap about the icecream. Althought the employees all seem into the singing it seems very forced, Like its in the employee handbook or something

There was a place in The Bronx that used to do that. Arthur's Ice Cream. It was there in the 80s. Hosp is it still there?On hot summer nights, we used to walk there from campus and get yummy gelato and ice cream with a shitload of crap in it.I miss those days. That was an awesome summer.

f this thread and f u for posting it and f me for being so easily influenced.this thread has had me thinking about coldstone all week so on friday when <a href="http://www.78west.com" target="_blank">rt. 78 west</a>
(shamless plug) was shut down during evening rush hour due to some 15
car pile up i drove past the coldstone in flemmington during my detour
and could not resist it at all.but it was so good.  i guess i should be thanking you for posting this and making me stop.
