An absolute outrage.

The only good thing that can come out of this veto is that Bush's standing in the republican party will be hurt, because many republican leaders have the common sense to look at his stance on stem cells for what it really is: idioticy.

Although that won't matter because we do have him for the next 4 years, hopefully the public (especially those who voted for him) will wake up and see what he is: a hypocritic bible-thumpin' moron.

Criticize Bush for this all you want but you want him to go against his own morals (and lets not get into a moral question about war and such) would make him look even more foolish to against what he believes in. And if the Republicans are for this there are ways of beating the veto by 2/3 vote in each house after the veto so it isn't like this is a dead issue now

Bush also seems to have forgotten the poor in his morals platform. They're not "religious", I'm sorry. These right wingers, 90% of the time, use religion to get what they want. Sort of what they did with 9/11 and the war. The point brought up on marriage is very funny due to the fact that most of these bible thumpers also had a ton of divorces and usually the one that are so anti-gay end up being just that.

Let's compromise: we use the stem cells from convicted prisoners like Scott Peterson.

We free up room in the prisons, punish the worst offenders, and yet allow them a shot at some redemption for making a contribution to those who are suffering.

It's win-win!
