You are all morons.  Anyone with over, say, twenty-five posts, that is.  It is fun to rattle the nerd cage every now and then, however.  You think I take Ron & Fez too seriously because I post on a message board about my frustration with the show constantly being in flux?  Tell me--who's the one with a thousand-plus posts on a message board for a local radio show?  And for all you idiots out there who seem to think you actually have some kind of "friendship" with Ron Bennington and Todd Hillyard personally, I would wager a hefty sum that the delusion is all on your side of the monitor.  Ron and Fez are not your friends.  They are DJ's.  That's they're job.  That's how they choose to make their living.  Anyone who becomes a "regular" on the show would be sadly mistaken to think they mean anything whatsoever to them.  They're doing a show.  We are their audience.  That's all there is to it.  You are not friends with them.  They aren't friends with you.  Especially the people who live on this board.  Just grasp hold of that concept, and consider maybe doing something productive with your life.  Idiot.I fucking hate message boards.  And for the love of god, use spell check!Sincerely, K. p.s.--read a god damned book

I love the poster who gets his feelings hurt so he uses the old "Posters are geeks" tried and true retreat.I was going to dissect his post point by point, but I mean he made himself look like enough of an asshole, really.What I really didn't get was the long winded tirade about us thinking we're friends with Ron and Fez.  Where the fuck did that come from?  I KNOW MY PLACE YOU FUCKING WASTE OF SPERM!  I am a FAN!  I listen, and try to contribute.  If I get something funny on air, I feel good, but I know I'm not a comedy writer.  If Ron and Fez take my calls, I know that doesn't mean we're friends now.  They are polite to fans at live events, but I know we're not going to strip clubs together.I think the only one here who needs to check themselves is K.

because they aren't being marketed and XM is scared to promote them.
After taking them off of premium because they had such a large niche
audience, they now have to throw on the "channel blocking" promos
during every break.  XM snatched them up cause they're a good
investment and didn't want them at sirius, but don't really take a lot
of pride in actually having them. Hopefully XM will snatch up the few
remaining talent left on terrestrial radio. After 202 is a more
versatile channel and a good crew is put together XM will start
promoting it.

Big Kev was running the dump. They were both concentrating on finding the cowbell and drumstick. Both Keisha and Big Kev placed the blame on themselves. I think that was pretty stand-up of them both.

Well, I would think Don's 2 week suspension was because it was right after Janet Jackson and I think there was other recent incedents.The recent incident on D&M involved a "best of".  As I understand it, a caller dropped the s-bomb when their show originally aired and was dumped.  When it was replayed during the best of, the profanity was still there, and it was not dumped out of.  I believe two members of D&M's staff were given two week suspensions.  In my mind, that was a more serious situation, because there was likely a failure to listen to the material ahead of time to make sure that it fit within the current broadcast standards, and there was likely no one in the dump room, or if there was, they were asleep at the wheel (someone may have just assumed that the material didn't need to be monitored closely since it had aire before).  As for R&F, there was a temporary lapse that allowed the profanity to get on the air, rather than an apparent failure to perform necessary duties on the show.  If this is indeed a suspension, I would be shocked if it was for two weeks.Incidentally, WJFK management has a big role in this.  Big Kev missed the dump, but he's one guy, and there are supposed to be other safeguards in place, but there was apparently no one working in the dump room.  How can management expect to keep the airwaves clean if they doin't provide the necessary staff to monitor the show.  I don't fault Keshia at all.  The staff has been gutted so thoroughly, that she's wearing many hats.  Expecting her to be able to dump when the board op misses something and no one's manning the dump room is a bit much.  I don't think R&F should have been expected to do more than they did.  Ron did note on the air that the caller couldn't say what he said on the air -- Big Kev just missed it.  They are doing a show.  They shouldn't be expected to stop the flow of the show every time something like this happens to make sure that everything was properly dumped.

infinity was planning on making them wait it out. But now after the
constant cameron/station bashing, along with the S-bomb dropping it is
possible infinity have decided to cut their loses and just release them
to avoid any potential fining or backlash.Although it is very
possible that they are just being dicks and want them to wait out the
contract, and the s-bomb was a good excuse to suspended them
indefintely to keep them quiet until then.

OK, here's my slant on the situation at hand....Keisha and Earth-2 Kev take the rap and get two weeks to think about it.  Now, where does that leave R&F?  They have no board op...no "producer", and their interns are all newbies...To me it looks like the boys have been denied their support staff.  They don't have extra peeps to make up for the suspended (like D&M), so how can they do their job without the proper "tools"?  Not that the boys couldn't handle it on their own, but why should they?  Considering the climate at JFK, I could see Ronnie B telling them to F off when faced with no staff.I don't know shyte...I am just speculating.  Carry on....boogerbutt  <img src="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/king.gif" border="0" />

my stupid opinion......its over......i dont think you will hear Ron and Fez again on WJFK. Weve been hearing hints for 3 months about XM, the writing is on the wall. Ron supposedly told someone on Wackbag in AIM that the agent was the holdup to getting the xm deal done. they were at the XM building in april etc etc. now june 1st comes and no show , just a coincedence?

the only thing i can think of that would make the agent the hold up is O and A have said they have an option that XM needs to pick up after their first year so maybe bob eatmen is working on making sure XM does that and then he can bring Ron and Fez over since they know O and A are locked up past october 1st

Actually I think it's xm has the option to can them after 10 months,
but since they took them off the premium there's NO indication that
will be an issue. If they planned on not picking up their contract at
the end of the 10 months they would have just milked the premium
channel for it's $2/mo. But maybe they are waiting until that is
officialy out of the way, that would be August 4th if so.

I think the O&A show is doing awesome and gaining an audience. With the addition of 4 fresh hours of content everyday, 202 will be a haven for truckers and office workers who are into that kind of radio. Its constant funny entertaining talk with it being politcally or sports based. I am sure the agent is just trying to get the best deal possible for all 4 of them.

You got me on that one, Monsterone. I have heard one show when the phones were down. The show still moved on. In any case, the replays the past two days aren't a bit. They have obviously been shut down for the damn s-bomb.The funny thing is, when I heard it, I almost didn't pay attention to the fact that it got out on the air. The day before (Memorial Day) I listened to the Hideout on the net. When you listen online, you hear all the stuff that gets dumped (like callers on hold do). I heard it and about a few seconds later, I said to myself, "Uh-oh... this can't be good).

and Fez aren't dragging anything out. They weren't the ones who went on
the air and said "it was a done deal" and they pretty much haven't said
anything at all in weeks to give real fuel to the speculation. And them
being suspended (if that's what it is) is not a stunt or a joke. 
 People keep forgetting history - last year there was mad
speculation that it was a done deal that they were going on in Florida,
especially after it got mentioned on Don and Mike...and
then....nothing. Eventually there was a blurb in DCRTV.com that they
re-signed for another year, but other than that Ron and Fez continued
doing their show  and never talked about it on the air.Two years ago - the same thing happened with the rumors that they were going to get The Ron and Ron Show back together.Perosnally,
I know less than nothing (and if I actually did know something I
wouldn't be anywhere near a messageboard) - but when I heard that (a)
Keisha was hired, (b) interns were finally brought in and (c) Fez was
making plans for the Tim Harmon 5K later this summer, I began to assume
that something had happened off the air to keep them at WJFK awhile
long. Whether or not it's for a year, two years, or 6 months, I don't
know, but I'm going to trust tangible indicators more than jokes on the
radio and messageboard scuttle.

now that Ron and fez are most likely done at JFK ( im not buying the suspension garbage, you dont suspend the radio hosts for 3 shows bec a listener said shit on the air) I wonder how long before they start at XM. the suspesnsion thing would be more believable if it happened in middle of a month but all of a sudden june 1st and no show.

During a normally scheduled "Best Of" run of D&M, the word "Fuck" makes it out over the air. When originally aired, the word was dumped, but made it through at least THREE levels during the best of airing. Those being Joe who was running the board, Beth Ann who was the producer, and Travis Bickle who was (supposed to be) running the dump button. Joe, Beth Ann and Travis are all given two week suspensions without pay beginning the next day. WJFK had no comment. It was confirmed as an unpaid suspension when D&M returned from vacation.On to May 31st, 2005. A caller to R&F says "Shit", which makes it past at least two people (I am assuming they have a dedicated person to monitor the show and hit the dump button, which would make it THREE) The next day, the show is in Best Of mode. All of the above is fact. Below begins any speculation.They're suspended for two weeks. They'll be back on June 15th. They're not getting paid. Their producer is suspended and not getting paid. Whoever the dump button person is, they're suspended and not getting paid. Unless the dump button guy is Travis Bickle, in which case his ass is fired because it's the second time he's dropped the ball. Infinity policy is upon the first instance, a 2 week suspension without pay, for a second instance, termination. The fact that they weren't on the air on June 1st is because the shit hit the air on May 31st. I'd just appreciate if you all would share some of the drugs that are in this place, because it's obvious from the postings that you all have the good shit.

I think one extremely valid point is being missed here about the airing of the 'S' word. In the Don and Mike case, he said it himself a #of times in the case of the don and Mike producers, they were responsible for reviewing the tape and handling the dump buttons. so unless R and F are taking one for the team as they don't agree that anyone should be suspended with such little experience...or this suspension is almost the biggest joke in radio also...Infinity's long time oldies station, WCBS-FM, 33 years same people same format almost has switched to the 'Jack'format without warning today at 4.  After playing Sinatra, they went into the Beastie Boys?  what the F? Speculation is, why CBS and not WNEW or WXRK when stern is leaving soon?  None of this makes sense, unless R & F are somehow involved in all of this in some way  just more speculation what ya think?

Ron has done the show a few times when Fez has been sick.  I know specifically when Fez was home sick (cough, cough) watching the bucs playing on Monday night.   I believe there was another time when one of the NY interns were down maybe harry elvis was doing the show with Fez.Ron and Fez sit on the opposite side of the board, Fez quit running the board during the Fastest hour run he and Ronnie now sit on the same side of the console.  I do not belive there is a dump button where Fezzy sits. WJFK needs to get new interns in and get them up to speed.  Keisha may not have the experience of producing a show but she also does not have a lot of seasoned interns helping her either.   Remember in NY it seemed like the interns were there longer than a year or so.  Recently it seems like the interns are here less than a year.

What I mean by "now" is in response to what Jafter said. He said in NY the interns seamed to be around for a year or more. I didn't listen to R&F when they were in NY, so I wouldn't know how long they interned there. Don't get all bent out of shape about every little thing people say, and try reading the posts that appear before them. You might understand more of what people are saying that way.

Teabag, I know that interns are normally only there for a semester generally.  But on the WNEW days it seemed like the interns were there longer than in DC.   Most of the interns in DC come from GMU and have been doing a good job, but when you turn over a whole new class without some veteran people it gets difficult to have everything run smoothly.  Remember Dubbs and Jefe were around for a long time because they were full time employees working multiple shows.  They also had experience working in radio coming down from Michigan. Let's hope the boys are back on Monday. j

I still lay the blame at the feet of managment. Dubs has been gone
for 2 months, and had they even begun to start to look for a
replacement when Giant Brian left? Or was the thought being, GB would
move into the Dubs spot, and Brian would train Keisha in his work off
the board? At the very least, there should have been better
communication and back up and support planned while Kev & Keisha
were figuring things out.I may be wrong, but it seemed like the
Keisha, Bitz, Puck crew were there longer than normal WJFK interns -
they've been there since January, and I thought I heard them talking
about their internships were supposed to be up in April. Again - I
could be wrong on that. The current interns in there are brand, brand,
brand new. And thinking back on the specific night in question,
and hearing the clip again, I have to wonder if Keisha even had
headphones on when she was in studio. It sounded like she might have
been in studio doing something else (getting the cowbell?), and might
not have even heard the caller R&F were talking to. And Kevin,
being a board guy really unfamiliar with R&F and untrained on the
dump button, was maybe more focused on the sound levels, than the
actual content.Bottom line - R&F shouldn't have to work in
this kind of situation where WJFK hangs them out to dry. They need to
provide Ron and Fez with trained support staff. IMO, it's WJKF's fault
this happened - this, and that idiot "Steve" who called in with the
dumb call to begin with.

Getting this back on track...I floated this out there in the Keisha/Producer thread, but it needs repeating here.WFAN is almost definitely going to hire the new overnight show from within.  There is almost NO chance that an outside show that's never been heard on WFAN's airwaves will get the gig.Yet WFAN still put out a job opening and solicited tapes for potential late night hosts.The Ron and Fez show needed a producer.  And probably were going to hire from within.  But WJFK never put out a "Producer Wanted" ad.Has there been ANY support from staffers of other shows?Why didn't Cameron move support staff from the Junkies or D&M to R&F on a temporary basis during the transisition period?These unanswered questions shows why WJFK management sucks.

There's one person who runs the Stern show, no idea about the Junks, and Beth Ann, Joe Ardinger and Robb Spewak for D&M. Everyone else has either moved on or been canned. Of course, Rob does do weekend work, but they are paid informercials in the disguise as shows. I don't know what the Junkies situation is - they might be in as bad a shape as Ron & Fez, as far as their support team.The Hideout leaving took a huge chunk of the recent WJFK talent pool with them; aside from El Jefe and J Dubs (who were always willing to do extra work as long as they had their own show!), there was Beniccio/Corolla/Chunks/Kevin Rogers and Tommy Bateman, both of whom went to Florida to be part of the show down there. Both Tommy & Beniccio had lots of board experience, as well as an ability to work with the show, and either of them would have been excellent choices to help out. Fat Baby/Cigar Sid would also, imo, have been good, and I'm surprised I haven't heard his name mentioned on the air as coming back to help.I really do think Keisha and Bitz and Puck have what it takes to step up for the show - however, with the odd vacuume the show has found itself, between WJFK managment weirdness, The Hideout crew leaving, Giant Brian leaving, and then an unexpected curveball of the last week "vacation," it's going to have to be trial by fire.

Zero chance that redskins radio could fill 20 hours of programming in a month let alone a week - and i am a redskins fan.JFK is probably going to just tread water till howard leaves and they can revamp their scedule.

The rumbling was that an "s-bomb" was heard on R&F's show on 5/31. And since 6/1, R&F's show has been in "best of" rerun mode. Previously, WJFK management has handed down two-week suspensions without pay for previous "naughty language" violations. "It's the suspension that no one's talking about," said Geronimo. No word on when R&F will be back on the air, but the two-week deadline will expire on Wednesday, 6/15.....

I was listening to the end of D&M when Don read the DCRTV post on what he had "confirmed" at the start of that very show. All he said was that part about suspension no one is talking about, but the yahoo at DCRTV tagged it as a confirmation and embelished the rest. D&M both said that they cannot confirm anything because, basically, JFK management are assholes who won't even tell them what to say or not say - not like they even know anything definate. Don continued that, if you remember their suspension, Cameron had put an intro onto their 2 weeks of best-ofs citing "ongoing negotiations" and "they will be back soon". They (JFK) probably didn't put out the same message because all you need is for that to go out on the air and all the theorists would go apeshit over the mention of negotiations.I'm not much of a D&M fan, but their last 45 minutes are usually pretty good - if don can keep his f-ing yap shut for 5 seconds.

I consider myself a "streak listener." of R&F.  I'll listen
religiously for a year, then take a 6 month break when I tire of them,
or something throws me off my routine.Their
show is very
addictive, in the sense that if you listen once, you can't stop
listening.  But, during best off (which I don't listen to), I'm
weaned off my addiction.  I form a new routine, listen to music,
or find something else to occupy my time.  A few months down the
line, I'll probably tune in and get hooked all over again.  But
for the meantime, this silly "suspension" (or whatever it is) has cost
Ron and Fez a listener.  I think there are plenty of others out
there with similar listening habits who won't come back for a while
because of this.
