Inspired by a post by Silera in Shecky Shain's thread:What collision of Internet and Real Worlds have you encountered or endured?My first one is kind of minor: I found out last year that my girlfriend's cousin is actually one of my top assistants, and nobody knew anything until the girlfriend and the cousin ran into each other at an event I was running.

The second one is a little more brutal, and I never told this story before.Back in the summer of 2002, my girlfriend at the time lived in DC after moving there from Arizona.  We primarily hung out on the weekends, because we both worked during the week, and the commute from DC and Jersey is a bit much.Anyway, while we were hanging out one night, she admitted to me that her father was a recovering alcholic.  To lighten the mood, I said, "It don't make him a bad person."She looked at me, and tilted her head.And my girlfriend, who lived in DC for all of a month, said something to me that made me cringe like you wouldn't believe."Do you listen to Ron and Fez?"

Several years ago, I found out that my sister's husband (boyfriend at the time) was the cousin of one of my roommates.  We only figured it out when they came to visit me.  Oh....yeah...and I met my sister on the internet.
