I'm with you on Pirates Of The Carribean. Never seen Donnie Darko. Some other ones for me are Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and every Lord Of The Rings movie. 
Also, Amelie... not a bad movie, but SEVERELY overrated.

pirates of the carribean i'm there with you.every Lord of the Rings blew donkey dick. They just run around for 3 hours. I've got other things to do with my time.I'm going to admit this, Napoleon Dynamite. If friends are doing lines from the movie, then its a little funny. but besides when uncle rico hit him in the face with the steak, it kind of blew.and usually movies i'm late on seeing. like people hype them up so much when you finally see them they can never live up to the reputation you've been hearing. this list includes:28 days laterblair witch projectterminator 2i'd also like to add, the dave chapelle show. i know it isnt a movie but, i've watched every episode of the first 2 seasons, i've giggled MAYBE once.

Ah, I have another one. The Usual Suspects. I
had it spoiled for me beforehand, but if a movie is THAT reliant on a
plot twist then it isn't very good. I still enjoy watching the Sixth
Sense. I can't imagine watching the Usual Suspects again.Also, the Boondock Saints. Yuck.

I kinda enjoyed the Kill Bill's, but the last part
of the last movie was awful. I hit my limit with Quentin's "Too Cool
For The Room" dialogue in that scene.

i'd also like to add, the dave chapelle show. i know it isnt a movie but, i've watched every episode of the first 2 seasons, i've giggled MAYBE once.
SO TRUE... I can't believe how rampantly successful this show is. I don't understand the appeal at all. It's the same bits, over and over. I may have laughed once or twice, but it's a show worthy of cancelling, yet somehow DVD sales are soaring and the show is locked in for like 4 more seasons. And yeah, "Boondock Saints" sucks shit, but I don't know if I'd consider it a movie "everyone likes."

I agree with the "Kill Bill" hatred. Why did Tarentino have to go off on this kung fu sword tangent? It sucks.
Never even tried to watch Lord of the Rings. Never got into that fantasy shit.
I'd have to disagree with "Spinal Tap" sucking and "Requiem for a dream" and "28 days later" AND "Donnie Darko." I loved these movies, but each to his own. If you prefer a movie like Independence Day over these movies, well, whatever.

I agree with a lot of movies on this list  Donnie Darko was awful  I turned it off after 10-15 minutes.  Pirates was ok but about 30 -45 minutes to long.  Napoleon Dynamite was very weak a few funny lines but awful.   I may be the only person who hated "Lost in Translation" it was just to slow of a movie and I didn't really care about any of the characters.   Give me Bill Murray from Stripes, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack.

I'm so glad someone said Forest Gump already.  What a fucking terrible movie.  I mean people like the soundtrack and all the little things through the late 20th century history they put in the movie.  But it all comes down to a love story about some whore who wanted to whore it up and totally reject this guy's feelings, then crawls back to him when she realizes she wasted her whole life being a whore and is now sick.  She knew he was retarded, so in my humble estimation, she was playing his emotions to her personal gain for decades.  Gayest movie in a long time.

 I can't blame Dave for
that, tho. It's the fans. There is nothing worse than unfunny people
who think they can pass for being having a sense of humor by simply

The only Adam Sandler movie I can stand was "Punch Drunk
Love," and I still think it would have been better with a different
actor.Not sure if these movies count - but I hated the first
"Star Trek" movie (fell asleep), I almost walked out on the second
"Ghost Busters" movie, and I think of no worse pain than sitting
through "Moron Rouge."OH! (Man, this can be endless!) - I HATE THAT TUBBY MAGUIRE HORSE MOVIE - SEABULLSHIT! Nothing but a two hour montage.

All of the "Star Trek" movies are terrible...hell, most sci-fi is horrendous.  As far as I can tell, the only sci-fi film I think is a great film, much less a good one, is "Blade Runner."I forgot about "Punch Drunk Love," but it's more a Paul Thomas Anderson film than an Adam Sandler film.

HATED Eight Crazy Nights (with Adam Sandler no less). I would say that
it was probably the worst movie ever made. I don't know if 'everyone'
liked it, I know a few did. Regardless it's important to note in every

Donnie Darko was awful I turned it off after 10-15 minutes.This is why this list sucks. In fact there are a lot of very good films that don't make any sense or don't really become good films until you see the whole thing.

My big one is "O Brother Where Art Thou?" possibly because I'm an odyssey purist. Mixing something I love (the classics) with several things I hate (rednecks, bluegrass, country, wacky mugging humor, musicals in general) made me feel like I was watching a puppy get slaughtered. George Clooney irritates the shit out of me. I can understand and respect people liking bluegrass, but that's ALL THERE IS TO THIS FUCKING MOVIE. And I hate bluegrass anyway, so there's absolutely nothing for me. I usually like the Coen brothers too.
I second Cheech and Chong. Only conceivably funny if you're high and it's 1974 and/or you're 15 years old and new to marijuana to the point where smoking it is edgy.
I also couldn't make it through Lost in Translation at all. There's nothing remotely interesting about that movie other than a creepy november/march romance, and that just disgusted me more than anything else.

I don't get anyone saying Karate Kid. It's worth it just for that one song: "YOU'RE THE BEST! AROOUUND! NOTHING'S GONNA EVER KEEP YOU DOWN!" Truly inspirational

I agree with Newport that, for most of these movies, you need to see them when they first came out.  So many of them don't age well.Also, you can't fault a movie just because the public beat them to death.  Austin Powers was SUPPOSED to be a disposable summer comedy.  It's not Mike Myers fault that every white kid in the world was walking around saying "do oye make yew hornay?" for the next two years.

For me it's, hands down, The Blues Brothers.Such an over-rated piece of crap.Its not even in the same universe as Animal House for which it is always compared because of Belushi. Also the 6th Sense was awful.People tell me that I didn't like it as much because I knew the ending.No.  It still sucked.

I have to concur with Ron on American Beauty, but it's the movie that pisses me off the most, but I'm not sure I hate it the most. Literally, while watching it, I will get red in the face I get so pissed off. I HATE everything that director does, ESPECIALLY Six Feet Under. I have the same visceral reaction to Six Feet Under.
I don't agree with Ron about Requiem for a Dream. The reason that the girl bottoms out has nothing to do with the race of the guy, but what she was doing, namely "ASS TO ASS!"

I used to love ferris Bueller until I watched it again a few years ago.Basically he's nothing but a whiney little punk who uses his freinds/family to get what he wants.Now I hate him and I'm glad he's married to hose-faced Sarah Jessica Parker.Also I hate Philadelphia and Forrest Gump ( although I havent seen either ) just because I know, and Tom Hanks himself knows, that he's still the same terrible actor that was in Bossom Buddies and Joe Versus The Volcano.

Spaceballs. When I saw it in the theater I quoted the movie for the next five years. Now, it's just fucking lame - just doesn't hold up at all like Blazing Saddles or even Young Frankenstien. It's an hour and a half long Sheepy trumpet. Meatballs holds up better!Blair Witch was a great concept for making a film that they Cleveland Steamered when they chose three people to star in it that I wanted dead before the opening credits were half over.
