You know that thing you can get, when it says "Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down"? Some nights I get this about 30 times and other nights, not at all. Does anyone know what's causing this? Someone told me that with XP you really need to have at least a 2 ghz processor. Mine is only 1ghz.

This is the first comp I've ever used w/ XP. It's a little over a year old. I almost never had this problem when I was using ME.

Is it Internet Explorer or explorer.exe?

It's Internet Explorer. Explorer.exe doesn't shut down. It just knocks me off of whatever webpage I'm on and then I click back on the site rite away (until the next time it happens). It happens a lot when I'm scrolling to the bottom of a page.

But can you set Firefox to open photos and shit like that? IE is a pretty important part of Windows.

I used to use it. There were many things I liked about it, but some things didn't work. Eventually my comp got all kinds of messed up, because I was trying to use Firefox for some things and IE for others.

I could write a book on all the problems I had with IE. All I can say is good luck.

DAMMIT!!! Last night I downloaded Opera. It seemed to have better ratings than Firefox. I absolutely loved it until I logged onto Ronfez.net. It didn't show me the posting tools. To make things even more strange, after I posted something (in the speculation thread) I couldn't see my post.

When I look at it through my AOL, I see it just fine! That is very weird.

I use both Firefox and Explorer, some things just don't work on Firefox. I'm waiting to see how IE 7.0 works later this summer.

Theres an extension that you can download for Firefox that will give you a button to bring a page up in IE, just in case you can't see the page properly in Firefox.
