If anyone does know if that statue I posted is still there, please let me know. I took that pic and one in the lobby of one of the towers back in 1984. I'd like to go up there and take "after" pics when the new tower is finally done. That trip in '84 was the only time I've ever been in NYC.

Damn I forgot about that statue, I used to eat lunch in that park practically daily when I worked a summer job at One Liberty Plaza across Church street from WTC.  Best thing about eating lunch there,  the Black Israelites and Hari Krishnas both used that park to proselytize to the lunch crowd, and sometimes would get into freaky debates where the krishnas would just chant and play tambourines while the israelites called them godless faggots...good times.    As far as the statue, I have no idea what happened to it, although I do recall seeing news footage of it the week after the attack lookin a bit worse for wear.

I used to have a really nice one of the eagle in Battery Park with the Trade Center in the background.when i was around 15 which was in 1977 my Dad and two brothers visited the WTC and my Dad took a bunch of 8 or 9mm film from both outside and inside one of the towers. he eventually had it put on VHS. We also lived on the top floor of an apt in downtown Jersey City and would could see the buildings being constructed after they reached a certain floor and i remember we would take notice to the amount of progress they were making.
