It will definitely be released as a single.

I'm watching Audioslave do "Killing In The Name Of..." by RATM. Wow, this SUCKS!! Cornell has never sang well live but, THIS? This is embarrassing. I am listening to it on XM and following along on MTV and its ridiculous how much stuff the people who are only watching MTV are missing. MTV is doing a horrible job. the moron reporters in the crowds are so pointless, Who gives a crap what time average joe got to the concert. this would be cool if MTV was competing against itself but in this day and time when youre competing with online streaming and satellite radio it just points out all your flaws, and why simulcast on VH1? why not run london and philly separately?

Nah, just George Michael, and he wasn't even up for a whole song before he was gone.

Oh,
and this one is for the same reason of the last one, except they aren't
raising money, they just want to influence the upcoming G8 conference
this week to forgive African debts.
The only concert of note still going on is Toronto.
They still have Neil Young, Barenaked Ladies, and potentially the
Rolling Stones coming up.
Well, the finale in Toronto sucked because of 2
things: 1. The XM guys were hyping somebody big showing up, but nobody
did. And the unbelievable 2. The Toronto finale was Neil Young and
everybody who performed in Toronto coming out and doing Keep On Rocking
in The Free World. It would have been fine, even with the bigger
expectations, except that in Philly Maroon 5, yes Maroon 5 did a
straight on cover of the same song that was so good that when it was
replayed in London the XM guys, who could only hear it, thought it was
Neil Young doing it. If you get a chance listen to it, it was
great.
good. I'm hoping to catch that on an XM replay, it coincided with the

The amazing thing about MTV is that they got the
Pink Floyd performance perfect until the final solo of the final song,
when they had two dumbass DJs talk over it for no reason, then they
went back, but then cut off the performance literally 5 seconds before
it was over. They only had to be good for literally 90 more seconds to
nail it, but they couldn't do it.

Watched parts of it on Saudi Arabian cable station and it was just concerts and no talk. I guess the Saudis know how to cover a music event better than MTV does - by keeping their traps shut. All I saw, though, were shitty acts like Faith Hill, Madonna, Bob Geldoff and Destiny's Child. Heard Green Day rocked.

As for the politics of the event I think Geldoff will have pulled it off with a monster campaign just to get the African aid issue and global debt relief onto the G8 summit agenda. With Blair fully backing him, and, I read, Bush agreeing to double African aid as a gift to Tony, (from a mere pittance to about half of what we promised years ago), along with the celebrity status of international aid guru Jeffrey Sachs, they will likely have managed to get the issue to dominate the G8 summit's agenda. I imagine most donors are going to have to make major increases in aid to Africa to avoid looking like dicks to a public that can't help but know about the issue now, thanks to these guys and a brilliant global media strategy. Big ups to Geldoff and his poverty posse.

Let's be serious, the "social awareness" was a farce.
They didn't even bother to include most of it in today's broadcasts.

From
a musical stand point, this is the show they should have shown last
week, mixed with some of the social awareness footage. The
interviews with the artists added nothing last week. I did learn
