So I buy some Diet Coke last night, a 12-pack. I let it sit in the
fridge so it gets nice and cold. A couple hours later I made a sandwich
and grab a can. I sitdown and take a sip and its the worst god damn
drink I've ever tasted. I look at the side of the can and it says
'Sweetened with Splenda'.God dammit, this shit is gross I poured
out the rest of the can in the sink and now I have a 11-pack of this
nasty shit. They better still make regular Diet Coke.

They still make regular Diet coke, and from what i can see the will be making it longer then the splenda crap, Also in my area they started putting out this stuff called Coke Zero anyone try this yet i think its still in test market phase

When i first arrived you were all such jerks

But now i've come to love your quirks

I hate to rain on dieter's and diabetic's parades, but NOTHING ON THE MARKET REPLACES SUGAR 100%.  Some stuff is close, and some foods help mask the difference, but I've found that sugar substitutes either leave a chemical taste, an absecence of taste or a nice mixture of both.It's sugar or nothing for me, toes be damned!

Diet cdoke with Splenda was decent, Coke Zero is decent.  Nothing really to brag about too much.And oh yeah, Splenda. . . it has to be one of the best laxitives i never knew it was.  Thats right you have enough splenda you'll be crapping thunder.

Pepsi brought back ( after it failed initially ) Pepsi One ( which has Spelnda ) because they did not want to " ruin " the tatse of regular Diet Pepsi.I would've though that Coke would do the same thing.Coke is actually making a Diet Coke with Splenda and a Diet Coke w/out it ?No name change at all ?Thats bad marketing.

all diet of anything is nasty. my mom tried to buy fat free fudge
shoppe cookies the other day, i almost made her go back to shop rite
and get some real cookies

The key to making questionable products effective is by limiting their distribution.That way consumers dont get tired of it and when you bring it back they flock to it.Pepsi has had huge success with this type of marketing specifically with Mountain Dew Live Wire ( usually only avaibale in the summer ), Mountain Dew Pitch Black ( around Halloween ) and most recently Holiday Spice ( Christmas time ).Pepsi Blue actually did much better than expected in its first year but they could not sustain it.Had they distributed it as a Mountain Dew product it would've done much better.Pitch Black this year will have a sour flavor added to it.

and mountain dew code red, which stuck around, because they are not
"questionable" products. Mountain Dew is a dominant force in the world

Mountain Dew products actually outsell Pepsi core brands ( Pepsi and Dirt Pepsi ).I'm not sure if they are gonna bring back Live Wire this year because they've added Tropicana Twisters to the lineup.That marks the end of Orange Slice ... again.

Diet Sodas with Splenda are supposed to be better with people on low carb diets than with Aspertain (Nutrasweet). I noticed a difference last year when I got off the regular diet sodas and went with Diet Rite, which was the first to be made with Splenda.

yea its already back, they have live wire in a couple stores around
here. the original is still the best, but damn that red one calls to me
sometimes, it takes like a slurpy with no ice chips

Consumers can be so fickle that Pepsi changed the name Diet Sierra Mist to Sierra Mist Free because they though that the word " diet " had a negative feel to it.They still call it  Diet Pepsi though.

that Pepsi changed the name Diet Sierra Mist to Sierra Mist Free
because they though that the word " diet " had a negative feel to it. they
didnt change the name of anything. this wasnt diet sierra mist, it was
a new sierra mist with nothing in it, put out in light of the atkins
craze

Diet Sierra Mist and Sierra Mist free are the exact same product.If you still find Diet Sierra Mist anywhere its stale dated and should've been pulled off the shelves and replaced.

I agree.All diet soda sucks.In a pinch, if I couldnt get the regular soda, I'd go with caffine free.Doesnt usually have that nasty tatse.

Here in D.C., you cant even find a case of Diet Coke with Splenda.
People are buying the shit like crazy. Our gay ass news even did a
thing about how popular it was.

When I was a real fatty I was drinking about 2 liters of Diet Coke a day. My doctor is of the opinion [I stress opinion] that aspartame and splenda and all of it is rubbish, and that if I wanted to drink a coke I should drink Regular instead, and that I would lose weight, and feel a lot less fatigued if I did this. I switched to regular, the amount I drank plummeted naturally, and even drinking the regular stuff, the weight came off, when it did not while drinking all that Diet Shite.
