Congrats and I'm sure they are the light of your life.BUT PLEASE DO NOT BORE ME WITH STORIES OF WHAT THEY DID YESTERDAY.Or on the weekend, or at the park, or in your living room.Unless your kid is a relative of mine, and an immediate relative at that, I will never care about your ear-bleeding stories about how they cut their face or played well in a soccer game or covered themselves in toilet paper.Please, spare the rest of us. Thank you.

I like other people's kids because I can have fun with them but if they get cranky, tired, hungry or whatever, they get to go home with Mom and Dad.  Nice.  I get my yearly fill of kids and that's that.

Slightly off topic but,Is there ANYTHING more boring than when somebody describes a "weird" dream they had?!"Well...I was in the Plainview Public Library. Actually...it was only the Plainview library on the outside..on the inside it looked exactly like my old highschool...and this snake came in.  But what made it so weird was that the snake was wearing an old sailors cap with that little blue logo from the Corningware Cookware stuff.  You know that logo, right?  It's little blue flowers.  Aaaaanyway... I'm in the Library and all the sudden, I'm on a Harley...which is strange because I don't know how to shift....."SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!

If someone posts something about their kids or pretty much anything else you are not obligated to read it" You're right Funkman, I am a nice guy.I did not post this thread because of another post or what another user wrote.  Those I do not mind, because, as you said, I am not obligated to read.I was ranting about the people who just have to tell you every boring detail about their kids.  I was at a lunch yesterday whereas it seems each parent just had to have a more amazing story about their kid.  What these people don't understand is that the rest of us do not care.  It's those people, who are constantly raving about their kids giggle, gurgle, goo-goo ga ga stories, that I have a problem with.

BigKilla perhaps he is what we call civilized and realizes in a mature adult world you can't just say these things to people and he is venting about.  See he understands the difference between real world and fake world.  No one and i mean no one says those things to other people its just not what normal people do.Also he is saying what he hears from other people not what he reads here on the board.  And i can sympathize because people don't just tell you these things they bait you into listening to their boring stories.  Keep up the good fight

Well BigKilla, let me be a little more specific about where I am hearing these boring stories.  At work.So let's say I grow another pair, and tell my co-workers what I really think of their stories.  That would not be beneficial for me in this envoirnment.  Everyone knows who the asshole is at work and I'm not going to be that guy.  There is a lot of bullshit you've gotta suck up and yea, I decided to vent about it here.  But when I do have kids, of course my life will change, but I won't bore you about it, and that is all I'd wish they would do for me.Think about that next time you're telling a co-worker about how your kid did something wonderful.  They'll listen politely, but they really don't care.

Why is so taboo to be honest?"C'mon BigKilla.  I'm always honest with the people I work with, but it's arrogant to think that telling them "Your kid stories bore the hell out of me" will enlighted them to the fact that they will apoligize for boring me and tell their stories to me no more.  You wouldn't say that to someone you have to deal with everyday.  It helps to have a friendly, if not compatable, relationship with the people you work with.  In fact, I bet you would never say "Your kid stories bore the hell out of me" to a co-worker.You have to be realistic in these situations.  "If something bugged me to the point to that I would spend the time creating a topic of it on a message board, then I would try to fix the issue."Well then every topic on here must be a waste of time?  Or is it that you disagree and can't imagine your stories of your kids to bore anyone?  (Unless they are family, sorry, they do)  For the most part, what topics are posted doesn't matter because you can choose to participate in a discussion or not.

Blah blah blah, I'll make this simple.You DON'T insult someone's kid stories or make a big issue about them because people are very sensitive about their kids, so sometimes it's not worth starting a fight about it.  I like being up front and honest about as much as I can in life, but it's usually not worth starting bad feelings with someone you see occasionally and just want to continue generally polite conversations with them in the future.And all we do all day is bitch out shit on this messageboard.  We recount things we wished we had done differently or just want to discuss things.  If you're not ready to hear some bitching occasionally, leave.
