Has anyone ever stayed at the Casinos in AC? I know Borgata is the cream of the crop, but what are some of the nicer ones? I got a really good deal at Harrah's, and I'm afraid of it being a dump or something.

I've stayed at Harrah's. It's definitely not a
dump, but it's not gonna knock your socks off. Pretty standard hotel,
but if your getting a good deal it'll be more than worth it. The casino
itself is probably my favorite.

HBox is right, Harrah's ain't no dump but it ain't The Plaza either.
My dad gets free rooms every weekend at the Borgata, that's the place
to stay in AC if you wanna do it right. It's a Vegas style hotel in AC,
exactly what you want. Other than that my aunt works at the Tropicana,
which is nice (plus they opened a whole new tower which is quite
beautiful), and my uncle works at the Taj.....both are also nice
casinos to stay at.
Dont waste your time, stay at the Borgata. Its not that pricey for a
room, and once you get one, you will get free ones. Seriously, dont
fuck around, its Borgata or its a shit hole, son.

I appreciate everyone's help, but let me just be a little bit clear on the subject...

Out of necessity, I have to stay in AC this weekend. I can't stay at Borgata because the short notice and it being the summer means rooms are 400 bucks a pop. Trust me, I'd love to stay at Borgata, but I'm not going to blow 400 bucks for a room for one night when a room for 150 is within walking distance of Borgata.

Thanks for the validation on Harrah's. All I wanted was a place to sleep, shower, and dump.

well does it HAVE to be in AC then...try maybe a place in margate or ventner- right outside AC...you could probably try somers point as well- 10 -15 min away from AC

MATTY all i can suggest is either A) call up and down the boardwalk hotels for prices or B) know somoene who has a place you can crash at for the weekend near by

we stayed at one of the Trump hotels once. It was pretty nice and i think it was around $180 for a weekend night... they ran out of regular rooms and had to upgrade us to a deluxe suite I believe it was Trump Towers

I've always stayed at Bally's. Nice place and fairly cheap from what I rememeber. Its certainly acceptable for showering, sleeping and dumping.

I stayed at the Tropicana, it was a decent mid-level hotel at best.

The Deluxe rooms in Resorts are pretty nice and damn huge, you can
fit 10 people in their easily. It has 2 bathrooms, a walk-in closet
(you can sleep in their if you wanted to!) sofa, chairs, and lots of
space to walk around.

Sands is okay but not great
(the hotel connected to it, Madison House depending on which room you
get sucks). Claridge has a small fridge in the rooms but the rooms are
kinda tight. Tropicana is okay too but not worth the price. Ceasar's is
pretty fair.

If you're driving why don't you try
Absecon? It's like 5-10 mins from A.C. The Best Western has a fridge
and microwave. If you're going to A.C. during the weekday I'm sure the
hotels on Route 30 are pretty fairly priced.

I was just in AC Thursday and Friday nights.

Was at the
Borgata on Friday night and was blown away. I've been there
before but never overnight on a weekend. Partied away in Mixx and
it is the best damn club in Atlantic City. Get there before 10
and there's no cover either. Whole atmosphere of that
hotel/casino is Vegas. The people, the clubs, the lounges, the
gambling. Blows the rest of the city away. Heck, there are
speakers under the water in the pool so you can listen to music if you
are getting drowned.

Aside from that.. The Tropicanna has it's new tower open and
there seems to be a lot of good stuff to do there. Red Square, a
popular Vegas vodka lounge has opened up, a snazzy Irish pub, and some
other high end places. Problem with the boardwalk is that it's
filled with old people who aren't very happy.

Harrah's isn't bad, and it's next to the Borgata so a cab fare between the two would only be a couple bucks.

I stayed at the Tropicana last summer. It was ok-nothing great. I would look for a better hotel next time I go.

I'm one to rave about the Borgata too, but I usually never even use it. I've stayed there about 10 times and only slept twice. So all in all I guess for showering and dumping, anything goes. But if you actually plan to sleep, any of the Casinos are good enough.

I went to the Tropicana today. It was REALLY
nice, much nicer than I thought it would be. I had heard that it was a
kind of cheap looking Casino, but I guess that they just did some
remodeling. I didn't stay so i can't say anything about the hotel. When
I go to AC I usually confine myself to the Marina district. The Borgata
and Harrah's are more than enough for me.

On a slight tangent, I
went to the IMAX theater in the Trop. THAT'S HOW YOU WATCH A FUCKING
MOVIE!!!
