i don't know if its considered an STD but no AIDS??it's been heard that some people who get tested for SARS come out celebrating and shouting "Thank God! it's only aids"

My experience with this was as a medic in the military.All of the STD's are treatable. 4.8 million units of penicillin will knock out clap and sphyllis. Valtrex can treat the herpes and once diagnosed and treated genital warts (HPV) only appear rarely (they use liquid nitrogen, not dry ice). The hardest part of Herpes and Warts is telling a prospective partner. I am not sure of my numbers here, but somewhere between 15 and 20& of the population carry herpes and/or HPV and almost all new cases are from people who had sex with partners that did not tell them they were infected. Apparently the transmission rates from one person to another are pretty low if both partners are aware of the problem and take precautions such as not having sex during an outbreak.The worst from a reproductive point of view is chlamydia. You can have it for years and not know it. It can affect your ability to have kids and is a precursor to cervical cancer. And of course all of these STD's make you more susceptible to AIDs. [As an aside the thing that amazed me most about treating people with sphyliis and gonorrhea was we'd inject their crying "my dick is burning off asses" then tell them no sex for two weeks and come back for a follow up. Invariably the infection would dry up in a day or two and they'd call back and ask if it was okay to have sex right away "it's okay man the shit went away, I don't have to wait the two weeks".] Lots of repeat visits.
