I would love to go out with you. You could have done this in a more private way, but this is cool and different.

Since you asked me out, i expect you to pay for our first dinner. And I love roses.

seriously though, go for it. it is flattering to be asked out by a women, and then you know she really wants you and is just not out for a free dinner.

Not only can men be shy, we can also be oblivious to female attempts at flirting. If you are interested in a guy, don't beat around the bush. Ask him out!

I got asked out 2 times in my life and truth be told, it did feel flattering. But part of me also feels like alarm bells are going off if a girl is asking out a guy. I know its probably an old fashioned notion. You know, where it is the guys "job" to do the asking. I think these days, where women are just as sexually agressive as men, that its acceptable. But I honestly find a coy woman more appealing, but thats just me.

Just be aware of the male ego. Do it as subtle as possible, or maybe
even lead him into doing it himself. "Hey, this was fun, we should do
it again sometime." then he asks for your #. Some guys might feel
neutered if the woman is too aggressive. So yeah, sure go for it, but
leave his pride intact. You're Italian right? You know us Italian men,
we like to think were in charge.
I personally, and I know a lot of other guys who feel the same way, that women taking the initiative, being agressive, being proactive ect. is actually not just appreciated but really hot. We're tired of the old rules to the game, we want women to show that they give a shit, and we're not just trying really hard for nothing.

I'm for it. I never understood the "Guy has to ask the girl out" kinda crap. Either way works. It just sounds like one of those old school rules that is pretty much dead.

i dont see why it would be a problem. I actually find it funny that
guys would feel uncomfortable, when alot of them feel uncomfortable
doing it themselves as well. If she wants to ask me out, great. If she
wants to throw me on the couch and make me have sex with her, even
better

I got asked out a few times in my youth, and my reaction depended on who did the asking. If I thought the girl was attractive, it was OK. If I didn't, there was a real awkwardness about "how do I let them down without being a total A-hole, in case she has a hot friend."

Me personally, as much as getting rejected sucked, there was no bigger ego boast than asking out a girl I was really interested in and she saying yes. In the end, I preferred doing the asking, but maybe the guy you like won't mind. And if he likes you enough, he probably won't care who asked who first.

I'm also an Italian and I LOVE it when an aggressive gal takes the initiative and asks me out. Even better, if like Snoogans said, she just takes you and throws you down. Just as long as she isn't bossy and demanding in the relationship itself.

I'm italian and never heard the notion that we like to be in charge.
But anyways, i'm a traditional guy. i believe the guy does everything.
now, would it be great if a girl asked me out instead of me asking her
out? of course. but another thing i dont get. people say when u go on
ur first date, dont give the "friend vibe". i just went on a date this
past sunday. everything went good. both had a great time. i paid for
everything except lunch(dun ask me why she paid). my problem is, i cant
read signals. b/c i dunno if she likes me or not. when we parted at the
end of the date, their was like 2 seconds of awkwardness, like we
didn't know wat to do(like hug or kiss etc.). i'm guess i'm trying to
say, how can u tell if a girl is interested?
