I wanna see this one. The critics seemed to have hated it, but my friend Grim Sanity said it was a really good movie. And I trust his judgement on horror movies.

The first one was kinda cool but kinda lame at the same time.

Some parts of it were really good and made me think of the late 70's early 80's horror but some of it was corny/cheesey and not in that corny cheesy 70s/80s kinda way.

Now that I think about this, after just replying to an Entourage thread, a guy that was in Entourage last night was one of the kids killed in 1000 Corpses.

Yeah, he got hacked once, just under the neck, and when he fell, Wydell hacked him once or twice more, before moving on

I was very disappointed in this movie.

Watched it the other day finally and it blew.

RZ was such a sellout with that ending

He lifted it from Thelma & Louise

Yeah he's such a ground breaking director.

He should be ashamed of that load of crap.

The cast was good though.

Voted for the free bird ending just because it was the best use of ANY skynrd song in a motion picture ever!!!

the 'Thelma and Louise' ending has been done many times before; sans car [Butch Cassidy...] or with car [Vanishing Point, for one], but I agree it's cliched, but I think RZ was going for the cliche in much of his stuff.

Yes it's cheezy and yes they use Freebird, a song I thought I would never want to hear again, but it does fit in well with the ending. Hey peeps usually love or loathe horror in general, the whole genre is one big cliche, but fuck it, I think RZ nailed it pretty good with Devil's Rejects, total guilty pleasure movie, and 10 times better then Corpses. And for me, a better way to spend a couple of hours then the pieces of shit being released by the big studios.

The 'making of' docu is awesome, not some shitty 10 minute thing; it's longer then the movie and shows an almost scene-by-scene dissection of the film, casting, and all the shit one has to deal with to get even a 'low-budget' film from brain to screen.

If nothing else, you got three great characters, Otis, Baby, and Capt. Spaulding is just so over the top that he steals just about every scene he is in.

In my opinion, another must-see = Shaun of the Dead. One of the best in a long long time; skewers the genre to death.

=

It took me the second vieweing to notice that was Priscilla Barnes from 3s Company, PJ Soles from Halloween/Rock and Roll High School, and I'm pretty sure the hooker who dreams up the 'Star Wars/Princess Leia' idea is the chick who played 'Dotty' in Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
