<div><div>I feel it is appropriate to address the subject of Syndication Underground in light of the recent news concerning the “Ron & Fez” show officially moving to “XM” Satellite radio. First off, it is important to understand the primary objective of the service. This goal was to keep the show available to its fans until they were able to listen without any form of assistance. S.U was about giving the fans a CHOICE and was successful in doing so. Alas, the syndication underground is redundant. While S.U was an ally to our favorite show for many years it is currently a cancer to it’s future. I have received TOO MANY E-mails over the last few days inquiring how to get and/or listen to Ron and Fez once they go to XM (via private feeds and show downloads) hence this thread. My answer to those people was the same as my answer to O and A fans looking for that show, S.U is about giving the fans a choice, XM provides a choice. There is no reason for this service to continue.</div><div /><div>While on this subject I’d like to thank a few people who have provided  their time and services which allowed fans to hear our favorite show when it was so ungraciously stripped away. Carl from D.C (Cheezeface, who without, none of our broadcasters would have a source feed or any of us a show to hear), Jimmy from Clifton, Stephen the Contractor, Mr. Twister (our most reliable broadcaster, the true backbone), RonFez.Net (provided a most important medium for fans to find people like myself), Joey from Garfield, Tommy from Long Island and the many fans that cared so much to even make such a great luxury grow so vast.</div><div /><div>This thread has been written to make sure people know that streaming (illegally) the show is to hurt not help it.  I also wanted to personally thank the people above that were ESSENTIAL to the cause but were silent associates that made the underground a reality.</div></div>

I thank you all for your time and commitment.  I wouldn't have made it through the last fews years without your incredible service and I am deeply sorry to see the SU dissolve.  Although it does seem kind of redundant to have an underground live feed while the show is on XM, it would be great if there was still a way (an aol account maybe?) to download shows as MP3s.  This would allow people, like myself, who work strange hours and listen at odd times, to continue listening to Ron and Fez on their Ipods.  It would also allow us to continue building our radio library.  I can't tell you how many times over the last few months I've gone back and listened to old shows on my computer.  <img src="http://rds.yahoo.com/S=96062883/K=underground/v=2/SID=e/TID=I999_73/l=IVI/SIG=13jkcelq5/EXP=1123080984/*-http%3A//www.clixaround.net/partypics/021123house_underground/images/021123_underground%20053.jpg" border="0" />

Thanks for the great service Steels,  and everyone else who were involved.   It was a lifesaver when I was stuck in Germany for 4 months.   I have both XM and Sirius(got as awrap gift this season).   Both are cool.  I have one question:  Has there been any discussion about the SU still doing best ofs on the weekends?  Thanks everyone!

Thanks to Steels and all who managed that account.  I'll miss picking up the show every morning as I would the paper, but now is time to go with the flow.  You guys did an incredible service to so many and I am greatly appreciative.

I can't listen to online streams of stuff at work, so I usually have O&A or R&F shows from the day before on my iPod and listen while I work. It sucks to miss stuff as it happens live but it's great to be able to hear the entire show.I am against pirate streams of XM, but I am very much in favor of being able to archive and catch up on old shows.

Thanks a lot man, and thanks to the guy running buddiesbuffet too.  I appreciate having an outlet all these years. it would be great if there was still a way (an aol account maybe?) to download shows as MP3s I'd like that too, simply because sometimes there's an amazing show that I just want to save to listen to another time.

Thanks to Mr Twister, Cheezface, $teel$ and all those involved in opening back up the pipeline to my buddays!  I am one of the few who has followed the boys since the early-95YNF days in FLA.  Someone hooked me up on the S.U. way_way_back in 2001 (?)...I know it was well before 9-11...and I cannot express the joy of hearing R&F again after five or so years of not having them around.  I am now an XM online subscriber, but I can say that I do listen all weekend to the old Best-Ofs, and would probably continue if it was there.  Anyway, thanks so much. <img src="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/flush.gif" border="0" />boogerbutt

A big thank you from me too. You guys provided a much needed service and delivered perfectly. I'm thinking about setting up an mp3 site for alll the Ron and Fez and O&A shows. I'm working out the technical problems as we speak. I guess it would be like a podcast. Is that legal?

even after JFK was streaming the SU was more reliable. I found myself there pretty much every time I was listening.

I haven't posted here in probably over two years. But that just means I was a happy SU user all that time. I've listened to the boys since the dot-com days and have been a huge fan ever since. I've met some of you guys at one of the Hard Rock appearances, and everyone I met was cool. I want to extend my thanks to all the folks keeping SU alive and going for us die-hards! I am dying without the shows, though, even though I am happy they are finally at XM. I actaully rather listen to MP3s than a live show because I am not always home to listen, and I want every damn second I can get! <img src="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/images/smile.gif" border="0" /> If anyone posts old mp3's of any AFRO shows, please pm me!I do plan on getting XM, but that may be a while and I hate missing out on the show. Regards,-James
