Yes, there is a thread about this, but that's gotten so mired up with muckety-muck and it's been around so long that people have had opinions and changed them and then changed them back...so, well, I'm in a poll kind of mood today...
I think I've covered many of the scenerios...feel free to add more if you can think of any.

I do plan to get the online feed when they start. I'll probably sign up for the free 3 day thing around the time of that AFRO show, but I mean I have been planning to get the feed for awhile now. If Ron and Fez get moved around so I can't eve near a replay when 202 fills up, I will drop XM that day.

XM radio, so I'll just get XM online. I'll get the free 3 day trial
starting next Tuesday morning and then subscribe the morning of

He guys, long time lurker...

I already have XM and love it. I was fed up with XM, and aside from local sports that I cant get on XM, I dont listen to the radio at all. Havent heard the boys that often since they left WNEW, but I did have SU access and listend when I was home. Cant wait for the reunited shows. O&A sound as good as ever and cant wait for R&F to be on while Im at work.

I have my MyFi that I bring to the office so anyone else who wants to listen can bring in a little radio and have their own volume control. That way none of us have to listen at loud volume and we dont get in trouble when the boss come around. The MyFi works great, use it at work, home and car.

Well, I'm feeling pretty good about holding off buying XM equipment and instead going the route of online streaming (for now, at least). While the choices of XM music choices were impressive, I have to say that I've found more (and better) online only streams (thanks to i-tunes). Maybe my favorite is www.woxy.com, which used to be a terestrial station (one of the first modern rock stations, even mentioned in "Rain Man") that made the switch to internet only. I am loving this station - can't listen enough. The obvious disadvantage is that I don't have it in the car, but these days I'm in my car less and less (that will change, but still). Anyway, because I always need justification, I ran into a friend of mine over the weekend, who is a big O&A fan and asked him what equipment he has and was surprised to find out he only gets the online stream - same reason as me, but for a different show.

I like the online streaming a lot. Many times I'll just listen to the show and other content that way from home.

I got the online feed and the only thing I listen to is 202. As I thought, the music stations are useless to me. If they don't work out the Ron and Fez timeslot fast, I'm probably going to drop XM until they're in a time I can listen.

I have had XM since last October. It is worth it. XM has gotten better over the last year, but one thing you shouldn't ever have to worry about is missing something. They have played shows endlessly. Ron and Fez are finally bringing something new to 202. All O and A shows are replayed throughout the weekend. I'm sure Ron and Fez will too...

Or get one of those MyFi things, I don't know what they do, but they look cool.

Tomorrow's Washington Post has an article/column comparing XM & Sirius. It's not on the website yet or I'd link to it. Basically, he goes side by side, mentioning the pros and cons with the programming and the equipment. He mentions the music and the sports, and grazes over the news and talk, mentioning Stern going to Sirius. No mention of O&A (or R&F). He mentioned the drop out areas, and who has how many satellites, and the advantages terestrial will have when they go digital in a few years. In the end, though, he basically gave it a draw between the two services, but put sat ahead of terestrial.

The only thing I feel that I personall *need* cable for is baseball, but since they dicked over the Washington Nationals during they debut season I didn't even need cable to see the 80 games that was on television. Cable is a mindless distraction, like the internet (but without the interactivity), with few exceptions of anything I'll stick with and really want to watch (Jon Stewart, shows where they clean up people's homes, Sopranos every other year). There are things I enjoy, but nothing I can't live without. Everything else I go out of my way to watch is all on broadcast, and most turns out to be on Fox - Arrested Development, Family Guy, 24, House, Simpsons, Bernie Mac, Malcolm. Hell, even this summer with nothing on and everyone jizzing themselves with how brilliant "Being Bobby Brown" was, there was nothing better reality wise on tv than the deceivingly titled "Brat Camp" which was on ABC.

ANYWAY - enough about me - over twenty years ago 40% of people susbcribed to cable; in 1995, 60% of the public had cable - but yet, ten years later cable is still only in 66% of all U.S. households.

To be fair, satellite reaches about 19 percent of all homes (many of whom also have cable), so (combined) it's maybe 75-80%.

i got the XM about a week ago and i love it.

-You get to hear songs you never hear on the radio

-you
get to hear alot of things you never have, AND it tells you on the
screen what it is. It tells you the score of the games on the screen,
too, so you dont have to change to find out.

-It's insanely easy to hook up

Heavy Metal, Grind, Death Metal, Black Metal and al the rest don't have a mass appeal the way other music does. It still has enough people wanting it to make it worth playing on XM if you ask me. I mean there's like 5 country stations, 4 Christian stations, bluegrass and all other forms of music. Can't they just represent Metal on their line up? I really don't feel that's too much to ask.

www.unhallowed.com One Big SeXXXy Blog

I'm about to leave for the mall right now to brave the Labor Day crowds and purchase the Roady2.
Being able to take it from my work truck to my personal truck to my house sealed the deal for me.
And of course, so did a couple of buddies of mine joining the lineup at 202.

Just returned from the mall with the Roady2. It's going to take me a while to figure out exactly where and how to mount it, but it seems relatively easy.
The unit itself was $50, and the home kit was an additional $15. The salesman even threw in the remote control, which is normally an extra $15. So for a grand total of 65 bucks, I've got XM in all my vehicles and my home.
What a bargain!

dont worry, its easy

in the car-plug in the lighter thing,
plug in the antenna and run it under the seat and through your fold
down out onto the truck. easier then gettin it out the front onto the
roof

home-you basically get the equivalent to an AM antenna with
a 20 foot cord. You plug the roady 2 in to your stereo through the aux
and thats basically it

plug it in

I was listening to O&A with the Ipod off the newsgroups from october to janurary. It was alright, cheap, but got in on a good price mistake, and promotion. On fatwallet in JAN, they had best buy with a myfi price mistake, and a 20% off coupon, so I got the brand new myfi for for like $180, and there was a promo for a year of free XM. I got in on it. truth is, I would GLADLY pay for XM, and will when the year is up. A few months of commercial free radio will ahve you hooked. Not to mention O&A and R&F, who are just entertaining as hell. XM really is the future, and the way to go.

Sometimes you just have to......ahh I forgot.
