iTunes Libary

<p>Question: Here's the deal. Presently my iTunes library is located on one of my internal hard drives. I recently purchased an external hard drive and I would like to move all my mp3s to it. However if I do I think I would probably lose all the links to the songs in my libary. Is there a way to redirect it all to a different drive instead?</p><p>What I'm thinking of doing is copying the folder where all the mp3s are and putting the copy on the external. Then directing iTunes to that drive instead. I'd rather not have to start over again if possible.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>i think what you can do is before the transfer to the external drive, set your ipod to manual ... then you can connect the ipod to any pc/mac and not worry about losing any songs ...</p>

You could just click &quot;add folder to library&quot; and use whatever folder you have your music in. But I'm not quite sure that will work for you as I do not really know what your talknig about.

<p>You could create a shortcut... If your current directory is C:My Music, move all your music to F:My Music.&nbsp; Then, delete C:My Music and create a folder&nbsp;shortcut (called My Music) and direct it to F:My Music.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I think that should work&nbsp; <img src="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/huh.gif" border="0" /></p>
