I'm watching the show that's on before the live show and some of these
guys are fucking brutal and they haven't even gone to some of the more
well known guys in UFC.&nbsp; Chuck Lidell is my favorite by far.<br />

<p>This wasn't meant to be the be all and end all of UFC on cable.&nbsp; It was the first event in a long contract.&nbsp; If any of you doubt the qual;ity they can produce, just look at the finale of THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER last year.</p><p>For that matter take a look at the show itself and see Josh ( Mr. 1 Dimensional fighter himelf) Koshcheck get his ass beaten so badly he was rushed to the hospital right after.&nbsp; </p><p>The UFC in my mind is the new upcoming sport.&nbsp; Baseball is great and so is football.&nbsp; Basketball bores me to tears and may in fact be the worst &quot;sport&quot; ever.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;While hockey is great, it dosen't translate well to TV.&nbsp; Boxing hasn't been relevant in 30 years.Is there still soccer on tv?</p><p>UFC is very much a visual sport and &quot;looks&quot; good on TV.&nbsp; To put it another way : if you see a boxing match that goes 18 seconds long, you think you got ripped off.&nbsp; If you see an 18 second long fight in UFC, it's the most exciting 18 sec. you ever saw.&nbsp; Give these &quot;events&quot; time to find their legs and ( with good marketing) it will take the fuck off.&nbsp; They really need a Vince Mcmahon to market this stuff.&nbsp; Say what you will about Uncle Vince but he sure knows how to market the shit out of a product.&nbsp; </p>

I expected many of the guys to get creamed.&nbsp; I though Leben would
lose to Cote for sure, and thought that Koscheck would have a bit more
trouble with Spratt.&nbsp; It was a pretty good event, although I did
get a little bored near the end.&nbsp; Looking forward to the PPV in
two weeks.<br />

I'm not sure I want UFC to get any more mainstream than it already is. I've been a huge fan for years, but if it gets too mainstream it will probably get like boxing. After Zuffa took over a few years ago, alot of extra rules were thrown in. Back in the old days, fighters used to be able to pull each others hair and deliver kicks to the groin. Anyway, I still liked the live event last night even though there were not any standout fights.
