<p>From roadkill-removal specialists, to bat biologists, to professionals who determine the sex of chickens, <em>Dirty Jobs</em> offers an illuminating look at what lies beyond the world of 9 to 5.</p><p>The worst I've seen on this show was having cleaning a basement totally covered in&nbsp;shit.&nbsp; I think I would have lost it.&nbsp; The dirtiest job I've ever has was working as a dishwasher in a seafood restaurant.&nbsp; I would go home wet and&nbsp;with a powerful fish stank.&nbsp; </p><p><img height="161" src="http://centerstage.net/stumped/photos/dirtywork1.jpg" width="240" border="0" /></p>

<p>at the Colgate plant they would use animal fat as a base for soap and they had a big spill in one of the basement rooms. the whole floor was covered with approx 2ft of animal fat. i had to shovel it into barrels. thing is once it cooled it was like slicing thick custard so you basically sliced it with the shovel into chunks and it was easier to handle. had to watch out for the giant flying roaches that were spectating from the pipes and walls around us...</p><p>another time they had an acid spill and i got to work overtime over midnight with another guy. we had our boots, suits, and masks and we dumped soda ash on the acid all night and then squished it with our boots as we washed it a little at a time down the drain</p>
