Ron called into O&A's show today and said that R&F would be
back up in NYC the week before they went on the air (week on 9/6) and
they would be stopping in on O&A a bunch of times for some more
AFRO shows. Life is good again, i have something to look forward to.

Ron
called in to call out O&A for laying down and being nice to Bill
Donahue when he called in this morning to talk about hi reaction to
SFS3 (apparently Ron still holds a grudge for him loosing his NYC job
because of donahue)

Ron also mentioned that fez has been getting alot of phone calls after Ron gave out his number on the air...

Dont forget - week of september 6 for more AFRO shows... mark it on your calender...

ron was on fire this morning... he really made O&A feel like shit for being so nice to donahue...

it sounded like anthony hinted that afro would be a more regular thing on XM... one can only hope

I enjoyed the AFRO show from the other day, but I didn't like hearing Ron and Fez take a backseat to Opie and Anthony. Ron, especially, is better when he's holding court and Fez seemed a little out of place. Is this what it's usually like? I haven't listened to O & A since WNEW and it just seemed like their egos have just gotten way to swollen.

I definitely prefer Anthony and (if he HAS to) Opie guesting on R&F's show, not the other way around.

i'm a wackbagger but a true long time fan of both shows.

I forgot how much I missed ronnie..O&A did let R+F be themselves...but they were definately in the driver's seat. It should be expected because is their show...the XM Nation audience outside of DC, NY, Tampa and maybe Baltimore, Virigina area have never heard of R+F...so that should have been the case.

The one thing i didn't like was Opie saying that they "hired" R+F....i sincerely doubt O&A are flipping the bill for R+F, but had strong influence over R+F coming to XM.. Either way, both shows need the other to succeed and get bigger...There is an obvious great relationship between the guys and I'm glad we can listen to them again together...i can't believe we've been waiting for this for three years since Sex for Sam III...now it's here and we're debating stuff (more so the case on wackbag then here i know..)

It doesn't help that 3 of the Junkies sound exactly like each other.

To be fair to the Junkies, after a week or so of listening, it usually gets easier and enjoyable to listen. I can count off the number of radio shows I'd go out of my way to listen to on one hand, and there's is one of them at this point. Their stint as a morning show at WHFS seems to have really streamlined their professionalism and has helped them put out a much better show. If WJFK has any sense, they'll do anything to put them into drivetime (3-7), if they do the OTHER smart thing and put D&M in the morning spot to replace Howard.

But I digress, enough derailing from me...

I have nothing against The Jay Guiles Band, but I didn't realize how much I missed the old Insane Clown Posse intro until I heard it the other day. Let's bring it back, baby!

The afro show was great. I was just upset that bob saget came in and we didn't get to hear more ron and fez. Even though saget was a great guest. As for the comments about rona nd fez taking a back seat to O&A there were just playing hteir roles. Wait till anthony comes in drunk from lunch and guest appears on the ron and fez show. Ron and fez will run the show while anthony takes a back seat. there friends and they all get it. So don't take offense and enjoy the bliss that was ripped to shreds 3 years ago next week. THE BAND IS FINALLY BACK TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy it while it lasts.

I have only heard Ron's rage (hey I invented "RON
RAGE" whoo whoo whoo Tell'em MONKEY) at hearing the Bill Donahue
interview last night on repeat. I could tell he had been waiting to
release the Donahue rant for a very long time, and couldn't really let
loose on a DC commercial radio show with full force.I see the
difference between O&A "laying down" and Ron digging up anger and
venting.Both O&A & R&F suffered from Donahue's
grandstanding for personal fame, and using the soapbox of the Catholic
church to stand on.Ron takes it VERY PERSONALLY because, even though he
wasn't the main target of Donahue's attacks in media,he &Fez lost
their show and got shuffled off to BUFFALO by infinity
(DC). I'm sure this is just the beginning of
RON RAGE.It shows you the difference, not only between O&A,but also
between himself and Fez. Check this
out,and see if it rings true in the months to come.I joked long ago
that to be a CLUB OWNER(Ron's comedy club in Fla 10 years ago) you have
to be an ASSHOLE.{see Mike O'Meara} It's part of the job,you make
decisions that can "Make or Break " you on a daily basis. It can be a
high stress/high pressure job.Being an asshole as a requirement to
being a club owner is actually a badge of honor because you have to be
strong-willed and cut thru BS and get things done. You have to be
CONFRONTATIONAL,with people in general(when the situation calls for
fight or flight...automatically you fight).
SKW,could you be so objective if you insert in the situation,YOUR
wife/sister/girlfriend/mom? Would you be supportive of a film maker who
hits on 50 women per month, and you hit the lottery? Would you act as
her agent and make plans for a shooting schedule? Would you prepare for
all the attention she gets for her body parts for years from
voyeurs,callers,emailers,visitors....guys who want to take you both on
long vacations,except..NOT YOU!

Read my post again. Maybe I wasn't clear, but I was with Opie on why he was upset that the guy hit on her. He's an older dude and by the description of the "pickup attempt" he was creepy guy using the "Hollywood Director" angle to pickup Opie's Lady with "You Mezmorize me".

I don't have an issue with that part of this. Also his girlfriend wasn't falling for it, he didn't seem to really be intrested in putting her into a movie, he said something like "I'd like to write a part for you" but also said that he wasn't working on a movie, so what part would it be? Sometime writers do work on small elements of a film (A single character, or part of a plot) without actually having a film to put it in, and then later on will use those elements in a film, but they don't cast for those parts until there is a film to be made!

I'm 100% behind Opie on EVERYTHING above!

I don't have a problem with anything Opie said except that he started to pick apart his movies for having sexual elements to them. I don't think Opie should be calling someone for being a "pervert" when they had couples have sex in public places, have sex live on the radio. He doesn't like that there is interacial sex and lesbian sex in his films. Opie doesn't have to be supportive of this guys attempt to pick up his chick or even his movies, but he's calling this guy a pervert? Has Opie ever heard the O&A show? Opie said "Most of this guy's movies are rated NC-17" like his show is rated G! If the guys movies suck then Opie could have said, "Hey this guy's a hack! What the fuck is he doing picking up my chick?!?!" But this guy using sex in his films is noting Opie should be picking apart.

I'm also open to this just being a bit, so I'll like to give Opie a chance to play this out to whatever he's planning to take it.

If he called into other radio shows to bust balls each and every time the hosts doesn't makes sense he's not going to have his own life. It made sense last week because what happened with Donohue affected him and Fez too, and he obviously has a strong opinion about it. It was also a good way to help promote their upcoming show. As a Ron and Fez fan I'd be pissed off if a host from another show called in to "straighten" them out regularly, especially if it's suddenly out of step and context with the flow of the show.
