How many rock bands can you name that have been (or were) around for over 20 years, that have had no member of their band die. It does count, if the band member left, or was kicked out, as long as they died within a year or two.

First ones that come to my mind are U2 and Aeorosmith.

I Predict, this will be a short list.

(edit) To clarify... Start counting from their first major record release. By "major", I mean records that had more distribution than the band selling them at shows or out of their car. My bad.

Get SmallLENNY ISThanks Monsterone for the sig!

Bon Jovi = kicked out the Bass player. (even though he didn't really play on the records)

Def Lep= kicked out the original geet player and replaced him with Phil Collen. Then Steve Clarke died a few years later and they replaced him too.

Queen just MIGHT have had a 20 year run. Not sure.

Cheap Trick lost the original Bass player for one album (One On One) but then hired him back. That was in 84 or something like that so, they still qualify.

No Doubt has been around forever. No member changes there. I think they've been around for 20 years...although not a major label.

As for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Steve Van Zandt left right around Born in the USA and was replaced with Nils Lofgren. So they were around for about 15 years before that happened. Then Bruce toured with a completely new band for a few albums, then solo, and then got the band back together with both Nils and Steve in 98 or 99. His last album, "Devils and Dust", is without E Street, but they haven't been disbanded again like they were in the mid-80's.

And who said Van Halen? They've gone through three lead singers!

Some people are getting confused. The original premise was bands in which all members are still alive, not bands that are still intact with all of their original members.

Yea, this thread was about bands that have lasted 20 years with no members (current or former) dying.
There's a 12 or 13 year period where they were broken up that I wouldn't think would count towards the 20 year requirement. Also, were Public Enemy together for 20 years? My guess is no.
