View Full Version : I can't take being a Chicago Bears fan anymore!

Rex Grossman is injured and I now can't even lie to myself about the bears having a good season. Every year I try lying to myself and sometimes I actually do a decent job until the season begins. But not this year. This years team is now so bad I can't even lie to myself! At least if they started this rookie Orton maybe then I could lie to myself. But no they are playing crappy Hutchenson he stinks. Heck the bears have not been good in forever. Yes, I know they had a good season a few years ago and made the playoffs but they did it with smoke and mirrors and I knew they would get eliminated and they did by the Eagles in the first round. We have not had a good running back since Neal Anderson. I am tired of seeing the likes of Thomas Jones, A-Train, Rasham Salam, JAmes Allen, Enis, Tim Worley, IronHead, Bennet and the immortal Luis Tillman. I am tired of all these crappie Qb's McNown, Shane MAtthews, Steve Walsh, Dave Krieg, Jim Miller, Hutchinson, Krenzel and the immortal Quinn. I am a die Hard fan but this is ridiculous! Thank goodness for fantasy leagues. I HATE THE BEARS!!!!!!!!

I wish I could say I was surprised to hear about Rex snapping his ankle like a rotten apple, but then I'd be a hideous liar.

But still, even WITH him, I was expecting a .500 season at best based on the guys they ended up with.

I wish they would give Kyle Orton (from Purdue) the chance to win this starting job, but they'll likely just go with Hutchinson, backed up by Blake, and there will be no progress made with the offense for another whole year.

Cyyyfyyy,

I don't know that there is a bigger Bears fan on the East Coast than myself so trust me I feel your pain. I was on vacation, when I decided to turn on Sportscenter, and catch up with the world of sports. I nearly threw the resort remote when I saw his ass getting carted off. This stinks! I mean I just want to play meaningful games in November! And the fact that they had to sign Blake just means that they have no confidence in the back-ups whatsoever. I am not Lovie-ing this at all.

That was a great pass by Garcia, hit Stillman in the numbers. I guess with a name like Garcia you get used to picks! Here come the Harrington chants. Bottom line is that this team is coached as well as the f'in Chargers of late. Oh and Marty made some terrible play calls again today. Talent won vs. the coach today, but the slate is still even at 4-4 with the coach losing 4 in the 4th quarter so far.

I'm not going to be like a delusional Redskin fan and talk out of my ass here...I'm fucking nervous today. Of course, I think the Bears can win, but there are a LOT of unknown factors going in to the game today. Grossman's few appearances is either going to cripple them or be their greatest weapon today...and the Bears stopped the Panthers cold just 50+ days ago, missing plenty of key players when they did it, too. And there are still players from the Bears fluke 13-3 season a few years back, namely Urlacher, who have something to prove.

Either way, it's been a hell of a season, and the Bears proved me wrong over and over again throughout...and I hope they prove my fears wrong again today. GO BEARS!!!

i am going to be an unbearable soul today...i may sit by myself somewhere and rejoice and/or cry depending the outcome.

They are going to have to run the ball numerous times....I expect to see other RB's other than Jones getting some good carries today. Establish the run to set up a bomb to Moose! I can't wait for that. Nobody wants to win this game more than Moose. Anything over 14 points wins the game. Special teams and turnovers could play a huge roll. I can't wait.

My stomach is already weak. Been waiting two weeks (and a few years) for this one. There isn't much film for the Panthers to see on Rex in Turner's offense. They have alot more plays with Rex than they had with Orton. Rex installed the offense in mini-camps and training camp. They had two weeks plus the Minnesota week to get the offense ready. In the end, I think it depends on how early they hit Delhomme.
I'm not a bad person, I just do bad things.

I think Grossman has been working his ass off with the team the last 3 weeks...he has something to prove to the entire NFL...guy has only 8 career starts because of the injuries the last 2 years, and this is his first playoff appearance. Like I said, he's either going to be fired up and dominant or he's going to get over-anxious and start fucking up...I don't see much room in between. The main thing they need to do is score before the Panthers or, even better, keep Carolina for scoring at all in the first quarter. If they can do that, they have a good shot of holding them down.

I mean, I'm excited but goddamn if I don't feel sick to my stomach at the same time. I have no idea why Redskins fans were talking so much shit like they "owned" everyone else. I'm thrilled the Bears did as well as they did, but NOBODY called it, not even the most diehard Bears fans. I was expecting a 5-11 season at best.

Establish the run to set up a bomb to Moose!

...and then pray that the Carolina DBs don't get away with raping Moose, Cage, & Berrian like they did to Burress, Toomer, & Shockey last week. There were instances last week that were worse than the BS no-call that just happened to Randle-El a few minutes ago.

Those Carolina DBs are good, but they were getting away with f'n murder against a Giant team last week that looked like it had no heart. The Bears have to come with more passion than that.

Then, they need to hit the offense in the mouth a few times & set the scene very early. I want to see Delhomme spend at least a quarter on the sidelines shaking his head & wondering whether or not he really wants to go back into this game.

Whatever, I'm no NFL coach, they know what they need to do...I just haven't been this excited for a football game in over ten years. Kickoff can't get here quick enough.

Ah well. That 1st quarter really fucked the Bears up. The biggest letdown is seeing an untested offense stepping up and nailing 21 points in the playoffs, but the defense seem to be on hold most of the night. But, the Bears already blew away anyone's assumptions just by playing to day, so hey, hat's off to Carolina. They've been on fucking fire for a month now, and they're playing to win. What a difference a thread like this is compared to the Redskin trash. You guys actually had me pulling for your team, while the Skins boys had me hating their team. Mojo had some great calls on the Skin's crew of posters (not all of them, but most).

I've never had a beef with the Redskins themselves...the players can kick some ass and Joe Gibbs is a classic coach (shops in my bookstore, too!). Just living on and off in this area my whole life, I've found the fans drive me nuts. And obviously, not all of them, but so many of them are SO fair weather, and completely clam up or completely ignore their team when they aren't winning, and then suddenly turn into uber-psycho-fans when they ARE winning, ranting like it's the second coming of Jesus and just generally being as annoying as possible. Sure, you get fans like that for any team, but it seems magnified around here.

I have to say they remind me of another fan base around my area. And I didn't hate the skins either. I get a kick out of that wacky fuck Portis, respect Moss and Brunnel for their heart and game, love to watch Cooley change the parameters of his split position (doing anything the team needs to win), and the lunacy of their D with the likes of Taylor and Washington. It was a clear fan based push to hatred indeed. I thought it was only like that on here with the board fans, but clearly they're just following the herd of idiocy that is being a Redskin fan. Thanks for the insight Mojo.
