202 Speculation - No complaints, please [Archive]

All right.  So the schedule currently shakes like this...7a-11a - O&A11a - 2p - R&FTHAT MUCH WE KNOW.  Now, what does this mean for the rest of the schedule?From my understanding, Master Computer resets at 12a every night, so pre-taped material can't play through that.  However, I'm not sure about live material.Right now, Scott Ferrall is doing a night shift on Fox Sports radio.  And Opie apparently offerred Ferrall a ticket this morning.I'm guessing that if O&A keep a 7p-11p replay, that Ferral is segued into the 11p-2a slot.  IF it's possible with Master Computer.  If it's not, why isn't the R&F replay starting at midnight instead of 2am?  There's a huge gap there, and you can't put constantly changing 3-hour best of's in there.... can you?So here's how I see it -7a-11a O&A Live11a-2p R&F Live2p-3p Variety Hour3p-7p O&A Afternoon Replay7p-11p O&A Night Replay11p-2a Ferrall Live2a-5a - R&F replay5a-7a - ???

I doubt you will see any other shows on 202 aside from R&F and O&A. They will probably add another XL channel for the remaining shows to join on.

Think Photogenic.The photogenic shots of R&F are few and far
between(look at the sideways posed faces)that cuts down the impression
that they are overweight.Pictures add 10 lbs? Try 20 lbs in a really
bad pic.If you diminish the SIZE of the pic,you also take away the
viewer's impression of "heaviness" of the image.XM may be waiting for
Fez's BEARD to "grow in" ,or just not RUSH a disasterous IMAGE of
them. I fought bitterly against having a bad pic represent
me on the web,since it was OLD/Bad Pic/Very Unforgiving.
R&F may not care so much,but they did bring up the issue of the
DOGSHIT feeling when someone dug up an old INAPPRPRIATE publicity still
that was just brutal for their self-image.The Sheik Pic/Belly
Out. XM may be actually doing this the right way,by NOT making
them look like FATHEADS from the outset to NEW MARKET.The vast NEW
MARKET doesn't know and love them like we do ,YET.So why scare off new
listeners/subscribers from a simple image
problem? *Talk about an image
problem...when you see Mars Creatures...wellllll um don't ask.(cough)

If I could catch some of O&A's replay at like 5 or 6 when I get home into Ron and Fez's full replay at 7 I would be very happy at this point.  I'd don't forsee any of that, so I expect to be sad.

I don't think this will be R&F's permanent time slot. They are
going to use O&A as a good lead in to introduce R&F to the new
audience.

Yeah Mike,you said it.It just takes time,and you have the right take on
it.R&F will open up a whole new world on XM .Imagine if you had
never heard them,then suddenly in OHIO or ARKANSAS out of the blue you
hear Fez chuckling and Ron pissed off....and you get hooked,then learn
they have been doing this for over a decade.

from what ron told me when i IM'ed him XM wanted them to start out
with a 3 hour show because it would take some getting used to having no
commercials... he said that at some point in the future they may or
goto 4 hours... he also mentioned that they are still trying to figure
out how the replays will work and nothing is set in stone...so
stop bitching in the other threads... get off your asses... and email
eric logan, the VP of programing... he loves getting emails from fans.

Eric.logan@xmradio.com He's right on the "Do Something" point.  I mean it can't hurt to write a short, polite message about your concerns.  If no one listens, at the very least you can say "Well I did something, what the fuck did you do?"I just sent mine to E-lo.  I kept it short.  The man probably has a million E-mails he looks at a day, he doesn't want to hear my life story.  Everyone should make their voice heard.  Even if you're not having problems with the time slot like me, let him know you are happy Ron and Fez moved to XM.

On the O&A show this week a caller was concerned that he wouldn't be able to listen to the O&A replay since he can't hear the show live.  Opie told him not to worry, while he didn't say exactly what would happen, but that basically all of the replays would still be there.   It seems pretty obvious that XM is going to add a few channels just for replays, maybe one dedicated for each show.  Also, R&F starting off in the 11am-2pm slot sounds pretty definite.

Oh, yeah, that's right - you did predict what night was their last night - a lucky dart that was thrown out once a week here for the previous three months.

Not only that, Curt, the whole three hours "so you can get used to not having commercials" makes no sense.  O&A were off the air for 2 1/2 years and they got a four hour show.  If that's the case, why not give R&F a four hour show and program it with longer comedy bits and stuff like in the early days of O&A?Big Ass Member is kind of like Drudge Junior, except without the charm, creativity, or funny.

Both 8/1 and 11am are guesses, and both are guesses with probability to be right.  Anything else where he claimed to have "inside" info has been false.  He messed up on their actual start date - his sig was using 9/6 before it was officially announced as 9/12...

The only people who knew when R&F would be off WJFK was Ron and Fez, plain and simple, and even that was in quesiton up until the last day. The stuff he has previously spun was simply speculation based on knowledge everyone else was privy to, and him trying to constantly make this about him with the latest buzz is tiresome and dull. If Ron really did IM him, then great - frame it. I'm sure he suspects that it will be shared, and wrote it accordingly. However, everyone by now knows that if Ron or Fez REALLY wanted to get REAL word out to their listeners, they would send a personal message to Mikeyboy or another trusted friend and do it that way. Sheeeeeesh.
