Black earl is the last person i would have chosen as producer. i cringe when he calls in. he stinks on O&A and he stinks on R&F. in the past, he has shown he can nto take a joke and really brings nothign to the table on air. Off air, I am sure he knows what he is doing, and will be awesome in training interns. Maybe he will be like Ben on the O&A show, and basically handle all the behind the scene's stuff. I don't care who else they hire, as long as one of the people is Billy "Radio GOld" Staples

I agree JPMNick,but then I don't know much about Black Earl and how
well
they all get along.They must have very good reason for choosing him
over all others(SHELL SHOCK).Maybe he is RELIABLE.When you get shaken
and dicked
around in radio enough,maybe you just long for someone who makes work
life easy and doesn't CREATE problems on their own,knows the job and
has a good attitude.He must be a comfortable FIT for R&F. I have
noticed that as O&A have gotten older ,and by their own admission
"broken" by their mishandling in radio/getting shafted and fired when
they were on top,they mellowed,even as I at about the same age mellowed
with time.Sometimes you get comfortable with an old pillow,just resist
change or disruption or bumps in the
road. Black Earl may represent
R&F's comfort zone.I notice how commercial radio mixes things up
and makes for a more choppy,but sometimes fresher show.XM seems to
makes
the hosts comfortable,lazy and self-interested ,so more stagnant.It
makes life MUCH easier for the PERFORMER,though perhaps,not as exciting
for the listener. This translates
to much less BURNOUT for FEZ,which makes me VERY happy.I'm sure that
make Black Earl a much more appealing choice,for a soft warm fuzzy
environment and less battling behind the
scenes. A former employer,talking about his wife to me as I was a welp
(late
teens) explained to me that he loves that a good woman will work with
you having sex,and it makes it so much better...and like a band leader
once told me,he'd pick a new bass player who wasn't as good and could
grow into the job,but is a pleasure to "HANG OUT WITH",a friend, over a
better player,because the show is just part of it.You wanna spend time
with friends,or it makes it more WORK(problematic/less fun).** Black
Earl was training for R&F today on Opie and Anthony's show
(equipment)and the guys stopped the show to goof on him,all in good fun.

Black Earl part of the "<a href="http://www.blackrockcoalition.org/" target="_blank">Black Rock Coalition</a>" and is listed as "BRC Executive Director, New York Chapter"He's a fan of Black Rock Music. I think he's is a good on-air punching bag.  His gag gets boring after a while, but its funny every once and a while.

he calls in and rambles on endlessly about who's going into the Rock

You know what, my honest opinion is he's a good choice.  He's VERY well versed in radio stuff, he has some prescence on air.  Who knows how much of his act where he can't take a joke was real or radio stuff.  I'm very willing to give him a chance.

The racist label in connection with perrynoid is a joke,because he
called a crank call to a lady whom he called a BITCH,and pretty soon
she was angered enough to shoot back that Perry was a racist.She
was being hassled and riled -up,and disrespected,but was all-too-soon
playing the "Perrynoid" card.In other words her response was as
inappropriate as his being a dick to her as a crank-yanker.She was a
phone answering lady for a job,and perhaps had a little too short a

Oh yeah, I think Earl would make a great producer.  It won't be the same dynamic as some of the producers, but, given his radio experience, I think he'll do a damn fine job.  Some of you may recall that he was offered the job when Wonderboy left for NC, but turned it down because he didn't want to leave NY.

You know, I just remembered something.  The Ron and Fez show was always a kind of refuge for Earl when O&A were going off on him.  He's kinda comfortable on that show as it is, so he may be a very good choice for the spot.  My only concern is his somewhat bland personality at times, but they've made diamonds out of duller coal.And I didn't mean coal as a racist term....unless..NO!  I really didn't!

R&F are tuff an their producers. It is not a behind the scenes
position. I hope Earl does well. I like the guy. Don't judge him from
the O&A show they are way to hard on him.

I'd love to see all the NYC people they can get back on the show.  Mikey D, Staples, Black Earl, Rory, Hawk, Wonderboy, Harry Elvis, Al Dukes, Frighty Fright, WHOEVER.  All the NYC people were great.  I know some of the people I listed are working elsewhere, but if it can happen, let it.
