OK so this could go in SO many directions but I'm going to try and focus on one here.  I was trying to help my parents transfer their pictures from their digital camera to their computer tonight.  after about an hour of fighting with the computer and trying not to throw it out the window I got pissed off.  I couldnt take it anymore so I walked upstairs to my computer (yeah I live at home, wanna fight about it?) hopped on Dell.com and ordered my parents a new computer (ok refurbished but lets not split hairs here).  WTF is wrong with me?  I guess it could be construed as an act of kindness but it was really that I was so stressed out from dealing with this old piece of shit that I went and ordered them a new one before I threw my back out picking up that giant piece of shit trying to throw it through the window.  I know they can't afford it and I have a few bucks lying around so.....I dont know.  It was a nice thing to do....right?  Is this in any way a normal reaction or am I just in need of some serious help?  Should I be in some therapy to teach how to deal with stress without dropping $500?  HELP ME

It's half kindness and half "get this piece of shit out of my life."  Nothing wrong with that.  Hopefully you can get a few bucks out of your parents for it when they see all the marked improvements over their old comp.  What was the compatibility problem with the old comp?  What was the message it kept feeding you?  Just curious.

DAMN I'm starting to hate being me.  This isnt going to help my stress at all.  I could have dropped Five Hundred on a night at Scores or a few hookers and at least been stress free for a few hours.  Now I'm going ot have to set up a new friggin computer adn transfer all their shit over from the old computer.....I'm an ASSEDIT Moe- It wasn't giving me any error message.  It was doing absofuckinlutely NOTHING.  I don't get it because it wasn't that old.  Well maybe it was but whatever.  Every time my Mother tried to print a picture it would print half a picture and the computer would restart or just freeze.  One day it duplicated every sinlge icon on the desktop and removed the wallpaper.  I'm going to go Office Space on that piece of shit when the new one comes.

It is about 4 years old but I replaced at least three hard drives in it...OK that was my fault for having Morpheus file sharing and no virus protection.  Damn my porn and free music addiction!

Moe- It wasn't giving me any error message.  It was doing absofuckinlutely NOTHING.  I don't get it because it wasn't that old.  Well maybe it was but whatever.  Every time my Mother tried to print a picture it would print half a picture and the computer would restart or just freeze.  One day it duplicated every sinlge icon on the desktop and removed the wallpaper.  I'm going to go Office Space on that piece of shit when the new one comes. Wow, very gay.  I guess the system is just too old to recognize the camera?  It has USB ports, right? Did you make sure they're working properly in the Device Manager?  As far as the printing problem, is the printer old too?  I had a real problem printing big files on an old printer, so I got a newer one and it was fine with the same comp.  As for the other 2 bugs you spoke about, that would worry me too.Just curious too, what version or Windows does it run?  If you say 98 I will understand most of this.  I have to use it at work and it's the worst.

Hmm, that is a shame.  You can see the pics but not download them in a timly fashion.  Processor?  Ehh, yea whatever at this point.  The new comp is coming.  That's what I LOVE about internet purchases.  Even if you change your mind, it doesn't matter!  You don't get to put something in your shopping cart and then at the last minute, put it in the Snicker's bars on line at the register.  Once you hit SEND and they have your info, IT'S FUCKING DONE!  So how many business days did they say it would take?  And don't beat yourself up too much.  You KNOW how much happier you're gonna be using their new, faster, more stable system.

No I actually have a copy XP PROFESSIONAL.....Bill Gates if you are reading this I'm only kidding I could never steal from you.  so yeah I'm running XP PROAnd just as a side note on that, it's a lot more fun not stealing Windows Media Center.  Even though I can't use half the little extras, it's just an expanded copy of XP and it looks sleek.  Love it.

OK so the computer came on Friday...I actually called to check how it was sent on Thursday and talked to 'JIM' who was so obviously from India I was in tears. (mostly funny because I had ot call a guy in Indai to see if the place in Texas sent out my PC using UPS...you gotta find humor in that)  I actually had the call on speaker phone at work...No one believed me.ANYWAY, I forgot ho much shit I had on that other computer that i have spent the last day and a half trying to burn everything that my parents are going to need to transfer over to a CD.  WHICH the reason I got them a new computer was so I wouldn't have to do crap like this anymore....OH WELL.

I'll tell ya someone there at Dell was totally stoned when they thought that giving the people American names and teaching them to call me buddy would make me feel better about calling India to get an answer.  That also reminds me of another cute little story about foreigners.  In High School I worked for a print shop, and next door was a Chinese food place.  Yea, I ate there a lot, what of it?Anyway, the cook was a swell guy, but really only spoke enough English to take orders and carry on a short conversation.  He went by the name "Phil."  ..........................yea, right.  Phil.  Ummmm, sure Phil.  How are you parents "Agnes" and "Steve?"  PHIL?!?! Give me a FUCKING BREAK!  He probably had one of those names you could only pronounce if you ripped out your own tongue. (Simpson's refrence alert)Nice guy though.  Kept the oil clean so it didn't make the food taste burnt or make the eggrolls heavy.
