Very funny movie, laughed more then i did at Wedding Crashers 2 funny comedies in 1 summer the world must be coming to an end.

i haven't seen this movie but one question i have isdo they explain why he screams out kelly clarkson's namewhen he gets waxed?? is it a context thing? or he screams it forno reason?

This movie was phenomal, just classic!
Seriosuly, if there was even a doubt before, it is now clear that Steve
Carrell is a star. Amazing performance by him; unlike his other popular
roles in comedies, this time he wasn't really a "character," he was
more grounded, more "real." He showed enough to carry this movie, and
yet he didn't have to thanks to great performances by everybody in the
film, most of whom I've never seen or heard of. There's no break in
this film, it's almost as if I laughed from beginning to end
nonstop.

This movie was f'cking funny.  Some of the comedy is obvious and, at other times, it's totally subtle.  It's not just a one-note joke for two hours. As for the "Ahhhh....Kelly Clarkson!!!" line.  It makes no sense.  It makes no sense in the commercial and it also makes ZERO sense in the context of the movie.  It's just a nonsensical exclamation that he makes that, for some reason, made it into the movie.  Maybe the crew laughed on the day or something like that.  In fact, that whole waxing scene is probably the least funny part of the movie.As a whole, the movie is amazing though.  I hope it dominates the box office.

Rotten Tomatoes aggregates all ratings for a movie and then averages
them.  The 40 Year old Virgin is the being considered the best
reviewed movie of 2005, with 84% positive reviews.

Actually that did make sense, all he was saying when he was getting waxed were curse words and explitives. When he yelled Kelly Clarkson it was his way of saying her name or her music was just as bad as a curse word.So he would equate her name as nasty as saying "You stupid fucking whore"I think that was hysterical. Saw the movie...loved it. I was laughing all the way home. This guy hit a home run.

I've never heard of ANYONE who thinks that's what he was trying to convey by yelling her name.  That's a long way to go for a joke.Especially when they are showing it completely out of context in the commercials and trailers and talk show clips.  I think that THEY think it's funny all on its own. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/tucker71/fezident.jpg" border="0" /> "Jam out with your clam out"

The Kelly Clakson gag is the weakest part of the whole waxing bit, because it was played to death in the promotional stuff, Now the east indian rattling off all the sex acts, thats funny and you aint going to get that in the commercials

So freaking funny, more laughs than Wedding Crashers.And my take on the Kelly Clarkson thing was that it was the ONLY clean thing he said during the whole waxing so they used in the commercial because they wanted to show that scence. I have no idea why it's supposed to be funny, I think everyone is reading into it way too much.
