I just wanna be clear here.  A "Trekkie" by definition is an EXTREME fan who probably dresses like characters and frequents conventions, right?  Because I'm a person who enjoyed the original Trek and The Next Generation as TV shows and moved on.  My point is, I dont have to be ashamed that I enjoy Star Trek now, do I?  Are people gonna check my bathroom for kindergartners tied up in a tub full of jello now?

Everything past TNG is crap in my opinion.  But I do love the original and Picard's ship baby.  Plus, some of the movies are OK.  2 and 3 are OK.  1 is too long and 4 is preachy.  Everything else is really hit or miss.

I've never watched a single episode of any Star Trek show, never seen a single Star Trek movie, never read a single Star Trek book... I have no idea how it happened, but I somehow completely dodged the whole thing.

I have only seen one episode and it was the one where The Rock made a special guest appearance. Anyway, theres a reasonable explanation why pedophiles are trek fans. Trek fans aren't the kind of guys that can go out a find a woman at a bar and fuck her. They probably have a moral reason why they won't get a hooker, so they go after children. I agree with the thread title "Kill all trekkies", except for woman trek fans cause they're usually pretty hot, I think..

What's really sad about this article, which I find disturbing and insulting at the same time, is the message of Star Trek became so TWISTED after Roddenberry's death that even I lost interest in the series. I do love Deep Space Nine deeply, but it to at times became a little a little too focused on war than on science fiction. Star Trek for me had always represented the positives in humanity...intellectual curiosity, equality, tolerance of the unknown and different, friendship, bravery...they were heroes for me as a child and they continue to be....the problem with Star Trek is and will always be Rick Berman, who took over for Roddenberry after he died. It was under his watch that Star Trek, in its attempt to expand its audience, became greedy and tried to inject unwanted and inevitably franchise destroying characters and themes that were clearly motivated by some retarded media consultant's recommendations to make the shows more sexy and violent. Deep Space 9 suffocated on its own plot towards the end by the whole Dominion War story arc. It had such possibilities too. It was the gateway to the undiscovered country, a waypoint to the unknown, and for several seasons it was fantastic. Voyager also had a great premise, but decided to take that awful turn down the red light district with the seven of nine character. Now we get to see the hot borg in a uniform so demeaning to women that only SHE wore it because it showed off her body.Same goes for Enterprise. Another great concept, let's see how the Federation started...instead of focusing on the formation of the Federation, it put us back on the ship...with...another hot tight uniformed Vulcan....And it worked for the media consultants and networks...the press was great....Star Trek girls were getting Maxim and FHM magazine articles...suddenly Star Trek became hip...accessible....people who didn't watch Star Trek tuned in to see the hot chick with big tits bounce around...but you know what....they realized the chicks didn't actually suck cock on the show...and that once the initial shock of seeing a Vulcan with d cups passed people stopped caring....Star Trek was NEVER hip....it wasn't supposed to be hip...science fiction isn't supposed to be bubble gum entertainment....its supposed to appeal to the forward looking thinkers who like to dream about how mankind is going to evolve, to show how far we can go....it lost that, and that's sad....they did it to themselves and they killed thier own franchise and they have nobody to blame but them. Getting back to the whole article thing though, I'm saddened this made the wire...it isn't journalism., it's bullshit sensationalism...anyone who can honestly insinuate that Star Trek influenced the sexual fantasies of these fucking deviant criminal child touching fucks is a real piece of shit....give me a fucking break. Let's start looking at brain chemistry or family history before we blame a show watched by millions and garnered over 70 Emmy nods.What's next, Law and Order made me kill and rape my next door neighbor?
