You know, I never really noticed until recently that Robin Quivers gives absolutly NOTHING on that radio show every morning.

I haven't listened to Stern's horrible show in years, but I do hear bits at my job in the garage or in one of the shop trucks. On my way to pick something up the other morning, someone had left 92.3 on, so it came on with the truck. I left it on for a few minutes, and holy shit.

I can't really remember how she was when I listened, but it seems things might have changed and she is now EVERYTHING people have accused her of being over the years. Just a YES woman, laughing at everything Howard says, and putting in useless points every few comments. Just terrible. She is terrible. How does she cash her check every week with a clear conscience?

So I present the question to you. What is your opinion of Robin?

she makes me quiver...

actually i like her cause she's black. i think she's cute and just adds a little bit here and there. i don't think she looks for the limelight or claims to be any more than what she is. then again i don't listen too much of late and just catch a show on E once in a while

And I'm trying REALLY had to keep this an honest discussion. Everyone has been very good so far, and I'm trying to be as objectived as a jaded Stern fan can be.

Howie is the center of attention, Ba Ba Booey adds very little that's any good, Artie trys way too hard and is funny so very little, Fred hates his job now and there's lots of auxiliary characters that I don't know I'm sure.

Robin is just there laughing in the background, adding NOTHING. What a terrible, terrible job.

I actually bought her autobiography but only got half way through it. I think the show peeked when his movie came out and jumped the shark when he got divorced. I voted that she's a Yes Man.

I still listen most mornings on my hour - hour and a half commute. For a while I couldn't listen cuz all he talked about was how Bush and everyone was out to get him and he just got too political. this is when i noticed how bad Robin got in terms of being nothing more than little miss 'let's agree with Howie on everything'. Between that and Howard's incessant bush talk, i couldn't listen anymore for quite a while. Artie actually does add the funny stuff for the show, but only when he isn't being stifled by big bird.

You know I don't think she is not talented, but she used to be more defiant and I think since her talk show doesn't seem to be going to well, she has been humbled so to speak and is just kissing Howard's ass way too much. There are times when he is obviously wrong about something and she just sticks up for him.....sometimes I wonder if he catches on to this and purposely tries to get more outrageous to see if she will stay on his side.

While I don't think she is funny at all, she adds more than Opie does to his show. And at least her laugh, unlike Opie's, isn't a fake forced morning zoo laugh. (I'm always amazed at the amount of forced laughing Opie does to fill time.)

About the only recent departure I miss is KC, because he brought another really uncomfortable element to the show. I don't miss Jackie and Stuttering John like I thought I might, tho. Artie is a riot, and Richard Christie is hysterical. I will say that Robin lost me a couple of years ago when, during the DC sniper case, she sometimes never got to the story, or buried it behind audio clips of celebs being dumb. On a personal level it really pissed me off - I've gotten over it, tho, and even tho she might not seem to add that much to the show, the shows she's not there, I notice it. Anyway, I don't listen like I use to, because of my work schedule, but the two or three times I've heard it recently I laughed. Those Beetlejuice songs they've been doing has been cracking me up. As long as they have BEET, they are gold, imo.

John got his start in stand up in the late 80s with all the people I mentioned - aside from name dropping and putting my friend in some sort of context as being able to crack up and laugh along side Robin, it had nothing to do about when the book came out (although, that same evening we did see Jackie The Jokeman at his only DC area gig, and recognized and outed D&M producer Robb Spewack in the audience trying to "stump the jokeman"). A few years ago John saw Chapelle on the street and Dave looked right by him - didn't really piss John off, because he knew it had been a long time, but still - come on, Dave - John knew you when your Mama brought you into the clubs! Patton Osward still takes his calls and sends him free comics, so that makes him happy. I'm 2 degrees removed from Chapelle from another friend, who is still in contact with him (they use to get their pot from the same dude in Ohio) and the story about him flaking out and fleeing the country supposedly had more to do with him trying to shake the "barnacales" from his life than not being able to handle the $$. Who knows.

KC called in a month or so ago to explain why he was fired. He was a drug addict and just messing up all the time so Tom fired him.

i kinda wished he didn't call, the aura of him disappearing was lost ... the real story was less than admirable and he was really bitter and hostile ...

robin actually had a good point that with his history of 'hearing voices,' he might be misguided in his opinion of what happened (and especially towards tom) ...

robin is an average side-kick, and can be a pain to listen to ...

but over thast few years my tastes have switched over to ron & fez's style of radio, and the whole stern just really isn't that funny or listenable anymore -- too bombastic, repetitive and predictable
