View Full Version : Prison Break

LordJezo

So Prison Break started last night on Fox.<br />
<br />
I checked out about 5 minutes of it during the middle of the first hour
and I think I liked what I saw so I turned it off and figured I would
get the full version of it someplace.<br />
<br />
Did anyone else watch last night?&nbsp; Was it any good?

<p>I liked it but don't know how this will last beyond one season but definetly no more then 2 seasons.</p><p>But it was very good, and alot of things to keep track of.&nbsp; a good alternative to the brutality that was Oz</p>

<p>It was actually decent, but then again, they put the best stuff in the introductory episodes to get you hooked. </p><p>I was set on NOT watching, but there was not much else on so I checked out a few minutes and ended up watching most of the two hours. If you're interested, check it out.</p><p>Oh, and that guy is hot, I know that will make you want to watch even more!</p>

<p>It was surprisingly good for a show that I had no interest in seeing.&nbsp; I can't say that I liked it as much as some of the other fox shows (24, House).&nbsp; But it'll be&nbsp;worth watching the first few episodes.&nbsp; Not bad at all.</p>

<p>It was good. The cast is excellent and it's a cool idea for a series. A few unbelievable elements (and what show doesn't), but nothing that takes away from the fun. I really like the mob guy in prison - a great character actor named Peter Stormare - who has been great no matter what kind of movie he is in: Fargo, Big Lebowski, Armageddon and more recently (and a shining point of the movie), Constantine.</p><p>I hope this series gives him the recognition he is due.</p><p>Also, the D.B. Cooper storyline is an excellent move on the writer's part.</p>

<p>This show is well done.</p><p>It's full of suspense but, it's still satisfying.&nbsp; There are just so many little challenges that Scofield will have to face.&nbsp; It will be interesting to see how it unfolds with that rookie prison guard now that he's seen the escape hole.&nbsp; </p><p>How are the ratings?&nbsp; Is anyone watching??</p>

<p>It is doing good in the ratings.&nbsp; It's only off -16% from last year's time period, which was showing <em>24.</em></p><p>It's the #1 show for teens and #2 among people 18-24 for the Monday 9-10pm time period.</p>

<p>This is a bit of confusing bullshit.... from TV Guide.com:</p><p><font style="font-weight: bold; color: #cc0000; text-align: left"><em>PRISON</em> BREAKS:</font>&nbsp;<em>Prison Break</em> is once again getting furloughed by Fox. In a November-sweeps press release issued Thursday, Fox referred to the show's Nov. 28 episode as its &quot;fall finale,&quot; but gave no indication as to when it would be back. Adding to the mystery: A network rep would only say that <em>Prison</em>'s remaining nine episodes would air&nbsp;at a &quot;later date.&quot; As previously reported, <em>24</em> assumes <em>Prison</em>'s Monday-9 pm time slot in early January. (Damn you, <em>24</em>! Oh, wait &mdash; I like <em>24</em>. Damn you, um, er, um, <em>War at Home</em>!)</p><p>Hey, I'm all for 24 returning - but how about putting the shows together!?&nbsp; </p>

I really liked this show so far, I want more. Ugh. I hate TV execs and ratings. </p><p>Soon everyone will have Tivo anyway and no one will watch commercials, which drives the networks decisions. </p>

<p>Holy hell! They actually got out! </p><p>I was <em>sure</em> that they would drag it&nbsp;out for another year.&nbsp; It will be interesting to see how they handle season 2.&nbsp; I suppose this season will end with at least 4 of them killing each other for a seat on the plane.&nbsp; I suspect Tbag will handcuff himself to Abruzzi so he'll be riding shotgun.&nbsp; The other guys are definitely gonna slug it out.&nbsp; </p><p>Then there's the little matter of Lincoln finding his son and his dad.&nbsp; And you KNOW that Bellick is gonna be out for blood.&nbsp; Same goes for the warden. He really got screwed on this one.</p><p>And for the record: I don't&nbsp;believe Westmorland (DB Cooper) really hid that money where he said he hid it.&nbsp; I think he said that information aloud so all those other escapees would overhear him and go to THAT location.&nbsp; Michael knows where the money is really hidden. </p>

I kinda missed most of last season and this season finally got to follow it for the past few weeks. Great fucking show, I'm hooked. But just 1 question, the guy at the end, is the the vice, i mean presidents brother that's supposed to be dead?

fezident
05-16-2006, 08:29 AM
<p>Sarah, the doctor&nbsp; OD'd for two reasons.&nbsp; ONE: she had a prior history of drug addiction and asshole druggie boyfriends that we can assume was her way of clamoring for daddys attention.&nbsp; She mentioned that her father (who happens to be the governer or mayor or something like that) NEVER paid any attention to her.</p><p>Now, she's all cleaned up. Working in a prison. And, once again....she has feelings for a &quot;bad boy&quot; (Scofield).&nbsp; When he asked her to talk to her father on Lincolns behalf, her dad was very dismissive.&nbsp; He treated her like a little girl.</p><p>So, she agreed to leave the door unlocked so Scofield could escape.&nbsp; It all came to a head, she relapsed, and OD'd.&nbsp; She might still be alive.&nbsp; You could hear the paramedic say &quot;I presume she's DOA&quot; when calling for backup.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The guy at the end of the episode is SUPPOSED to be the main murder victim- the vice presidents brother.&nbsp; Lincoln was (wrongfully) accused of his murder.&nbsp; Needless to say....the fact that he's alive proves that Lincoln did not kill anybody. It ALSO proves that there is a huge conspiracy to frame him.&nbsp; He's in prison for a crime that NOBODY committed.&nbsp; The group that financed the Vice Presidents campaign somehow managed to come up with a ton of evidence against Lincoln.&nbsp; How and why remains to be seen.</p>

I'll try.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Westmorland (DB Cooper) bled to death</strong> before he even got over the wall.</p><p><strong>Sucres cousin -the fat fuck- also never made it over the wall</strong>.&nbsp; He broke the pipe that the escape rope was tied to. </p><p><strong>Haywire (the crazy insomniac) gets left behind</strong>.&nbsp; They tell him to go look for the keys to the van but, they drive away without him.&nbsp; He's all kinds of pissed.&nbsp; He runs away on foot, finds an old barn, and steals a little girls bicycle and her helmet. (safety first!)&nbsp; He rides off on the bike all by himself.&nbsp; We don't see him again.</p><p><strong>Scofield tells &quot;Tweener&quot; (the Vanilla Ice wannabe) to take a fuckin' walk</strong>.&nbsp; He's not allowed to stay with the group.&nbsp; He's on his own because Scofield promised only to get him over the wall...not&nbsp;all the way to&nbsp;the plane.&nbsp; Tweener runs off and hides in the back of a horse-trailer-truck-thingie.&nbsp; During the escape, he cut his hand. He's bleeding enough for the dogs to pick up the scent but, he'll make it pretty far if he can stay hidden on the trailer.</p><p><strong>Tbag handcuffs himself to Michael</strong> so he wont get left behind like Haywire.&nbsp; They hide in a toolshed on a farm somewhere and <strong>Abruzzi grabs an axe off the wall and cuts off Tbags hand</strong>.&nbsp; He's (obviously) seperated from Scofield now. They leave him on the floor clutching his bloody stump and they run away without him.&nbsp; We later see him -by himself- running in the woods with a makeshift tourniquet around his arm.&nbsp; He looks deranged.&nbsp; Probably trying to catch up to the group to kill Abruzzi.&nbsp; We can clearly hear the dogs in the background. He'll probably end up back at Fox River but, right now...we don't know.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Cnote, Michael, Lincoln, Abruzzi, and Sucre</strong> are juuust about to find the getaway plane but, because they are so behind schedule, the mob takes off without them. The reach the runway about 30 seconds too late.&nbsp; The cops are, literally, 50 feet away yelling at them to lay down.</p><p>Michael tells them all to run. They do.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Best. Show. Ever.</p>

The actor will play the federal agent who's assigned to track down escaped prisoners Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield (played by Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller).<br /><br />Shooting for the second season is set for Dallas, which the producers believe will be able to pass for several parts of the country (the show was shot in an abandoned Chicago-area prison last year).<br /></div>

Good news everyone!
Fox has renewed PB for a fourth (and probably final) season.

Prison Break Gets the Max from Fox By Natalie Finn

Michael Scofield has been sentenced to another 22 hours.

Fox confirmed Monday to E! News it has renewed Prison Break for a full fourth season, which must be welcome news for fans who were left wanting more after the writers' strike allowed for only a 13-episode third season.

The series was averaging 8.2 million viewers per week until the well of scripts ran dry.

Shooting on the next 22 episodes of the drama is expected to begin in May in Los Angeles—where most of the season-four action is due to take place—in time for a fall premiere.

The season-three action ended with a cliffhanger that unfortunately would have had to serve as the series' finale if Fox hadn't signed up for more.

Meaning, Wentworth Miller's character is no longer on the road to nowhere after busting out of a Panamanian lockup—and maybe, just maybe, he'll get his revenge on the shady syndicate responsible for Sara's death.

Fox is running the hell outta those PRISON BREAK spots but, I gotta say.... it looks pretty lame.

Maybe it's just the way the commercials were put together but, it looks like PB has a bit of an OCEANS 11,12,13 kinda tone. If they take the show in that direction, I'll be super pissed.

I missed a lot of last season, but what I did see I was happy with and I thought it maintained the typical Fox cliffhangar style really well which kept me interested at the last minute every time. I'll be tuning in for this season right after I go back and watch the DVDs from last season. Interesting that Tancredi is coming back. I personally thought she was dead as well...

Ah, man.
I feel the wheels are comin' off the wagon.

The energy and tension of this show has been diluted and I ain't happy about it.

The singular focus of season one was what made it such a joy to watch. GET OUT OF PRISON. Period.

The 2nd season was amazing too. It was tense and unique.

The 3rd season was when they started to lose their way. SONA was a summer camp. No guards... no curfew... they had cell phones... frequent visitation.... etc.

Season 4, to me, feels really forced.
The double and triple crosses are starting to wear me out. "The Company" just doesn't feel like a real threat. They're theee most powerful organization in the world and yet... they can't do a damn thing right? Bill Kim referred to 5 million dollars as "pocket change" right before he threw it in the harbor. With resources like that, they could've EASILY bribed Lechero and had Whistler walk right out the front door.

And... their motivation makes ZERO sense.
If you follow their logic, it's ass backwards.

The Company wanted Michael. They never wanted Linc.
So... they frame Linc for a murder... and put him on death row FOR NO OTHER REASON than to motivate Michael to break him out.
Why?
So that then they could have leverage over Michael and send him to SONA.
Why?
So that he could break out Whistler.
How f'ing needlessly elaborate is THAT???!

There was no need to resurrect Sarah. I understand that the ACTRESS had to take some time off after the birth of her child but, there was no need to bring her back. Her death was an unexpected highlight of last season. Her resurrection is a totally predictable low point. We said our goodbyes. As did Michael. Enough already.

The tat removal was reeetarded. But, okay. They didn't want to have to keep hiding the ink for the actor OR the character. I get that. But having Michael elect to NOT use an anestetic was pointless. And having it all done in a few hours is amazingly unrealistic (even for PB!)

Finally, I'm not happy with the direction. The acting is worse than it's ever been. Even Mahone (Fichtner) is having a hard time delivering this stuff convincingly. Having said that, he did have a great moment when Michael was doing the "roll call' before he briefed the boys and told everybody to clear the bad blood. Mahone just kinda hung his head and said "Hi, Michael" in a very defeated way. THAT was amazingly well acted. The rest... felt like my highschool play.

Hopefully, this show will snap into focus in the very near future. I have sooo much time already invested in it.

Alex's character could be one of the most interesting, but they're so inconsistent with him. shouldn't he be climbing the walls and scratching himself to death from his pain-pill withdrawal? maybe that's what he's trying to get from the agent (don't know her name) he spoke to in this episode, but he's pretty clear-minded in the meantime.

Yeah, what the hell happened w/ his addiction? What he was getting from the agent was the photos of his dead son (why? who knows), thats what he was looking at when Lincoln approached him. Also, wth - Lincoln was all "I'M GONNA SETTLE THE SCORE, HE KILLED MY DAD" then all of a sudden it's all "IT'S OK NOW BRO, WE'LL GET THEM" just because their sons were both in danger?

fezident
09-10-2008, 02:15 AM
Mahone's addiction is behind him.
It's been just over a month since the escape, and Alex was detoxing since before the escape so, he'd be outta the woods by now.
Also... he's not behaving normally. He still seems very ticky to me. Residual effects.

I don't fully understand why Lincoln haaates the computer kid and suddenly feels a kinship with Mahone. Both of those relationships seems forced.

However, I love seeing Michael start to unravel. He's much more emotional this season. He's almost normal!

Apparantly, Michael used to get them as a child. This is indicitive of larger problem that.... hopefully... will kill Michael. This is the last season of PB and I'd love it if Fox had the guts to kill off the main character.

Season 1 - she's a 9.
Since then I'm guessing she's getting different lighting/makeup to make her look stressed/worn etc, not to mention she's had a kid mid-way through season 2. But she is pretty hot, if a bit too pale.

The only reason I'm watching is because I thought it would be cancelled after 2 seasons for poor ratings, so I wanted to keep watching to get the end of the storyline. But they keep going and going. It's unbearable, but I can't seem to stop. At least now it's almost a foregone conclusion that this is the last season.

For those of you still watching the steaming shit-pile cluster-fuck of greatness that is Prison Break, I give you the greatest scene in all of television, transcribed, not quite verbatum, but I captured the spirit, I think.

"Bellick, NOOOO!"

"I'll save you guys by holding up this really heavy pipe!"

"Bellick, the water is coming!"

"Goodbye my friends."

"Jefe, we should go after him, vato. What's down at the end of this big water pipe?"

"Unfortunately that information was on my full-body tattoo, which I had burned off. Oh well. Tough shits, Bellick."

Every week, Prison Break cements its legacy as the worst/best show on television. They're not even trying anymore, its so fantastic. It's like the last half hour of The What Show.

I hope they don't puss out and have everyone live happily ever after. I think the brothers should die. Tbag should go free. And Sucre and Bellick should end up in prison.

Agreed on all points.
Especially #3. Tarantino did that bit already.

ALTHOUGH.... Felicia throwing Mahone under the bus?? I definitely did NOT see that coming. She has been theee most honest character of the series. I always thought her character was dependable. If I were Mahone, I would've trusted her. I dunno... maybe it's just that the actress is so damn good. Any way ya slice it, she pulled a Lando. And I'm not just saying that because her character is black and rather handsome.

There may still be a chance for the Prison Break spin off, Cherry Hill. It is supposed to be a female prison and Gretchen, which isn’t confirmed dead or alive may be a primary character in the show.

“Scoop: Regan and mom are hoping that the still unconfirmed Prison Break spinoff, rumored to be titled Cherry Hill, is a go. “They’re sending Gretchen to prison. There’s a line in the last episode (the series’ winter finale), where Lincoln says ‘If you don’t talk you’ll get to see your daughter again,’” she said. “So we’re hoping that happens and we get a chance to be in that.”

This will be the final season of "Prison Break."

Fox will shift the show to Fridays this spring for its final run of episodes, taking over for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" once the sci-fi drama finishes its run. "Prison" will air Friday nights at 8 p.m. starting April 17.

"The show just played out," says Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly. "Creatively everybody feels enough stories were told ... we want it to finish strong and not just gimp out next season."

"Prison" has four more episodes set to air, and might shoot a could extra series-ending episodes as well.

"They have a cool ending," Reilly reassured.

YES, I am still watching and NO... it is not worth catching up with it.

Sounds like you've seen all of season one and two which is, without question, some of thee most addictive TV programming I've ever seen.

Season three really suck-diddly-ucked, Flanders. It was almost unwatchable.
(short version: Michael got thrown into a prison in Panama. The prison had no guards... just a locked door leading to the outside. Linc had to come up with a plan to break Michael out. Believe me.... it sucked.)

Season four is all over the place. The brothers are trying to "take down the evil organization that framed them". It's a mish-mash of plots, subplots, and double -triple - and fourple crosses. Hard to follow. And... the acting has taken a turn for the worse. Even Mahone (William Fichtner) can't save it.

Four episodes left. I predict Michael will die.

That's it.

After a few clunker episodes, the recent episode was quite good.

"Hi, Mom." Awesome!!

Can we all agree that Lincoln will die -probably in a sacrificial act- and Michael will name his baby after Lincoln? I think that writing's on the wall.

The guilt of Lincoln dying so that the rest of the "family" might live will torture Michael forever. His guilt will be the only prison that he can never escape from.
