My taxes have DOUBLED as of this past Saturday! People are saying "You can sell your house and make a ton of money!"

How the HELL to you market a little Cape, on a 50'x100' lot with taxes over $10,000 per year!!

Well, the town held there little "meeting" this afternoon. It was in the courtroom in the Boro Hall! FUCKING IDIOTS!! They could not fathom that over a thousand people would show up for this meeting??!!

First of all they had the meeting at PM on a Tuesday, I guess figuring that the people who work would not show up to bitch.

*BUZZZZ!!!* WRONG!!

The people who got there early were seated in the Courtroom, while a few hundred outside lined the hallways and stairway. The doors were closed.

"Sorry, no more room. The minutes will be available in a few days."

HOLY SHIT! I thought somebody was gonna be lynched!!

At that point they called the cops to clear us unwelcome taxpayers out.

We all congregated on the front lawn waiting for channels 5 and 7 to arrive.

These asswipes started the meeting. Naturally the microphones were not working. (Oldest trick in the book!) After about 5 minutes of citizens screaming and yelling and being threatened with arrest, the meeting was rescheduled for Thursday at PM and PM at the High School auditorium! FUCKTARDS couldn't figure that out sooner?

But my feeling is, no matter how much screaming and yelling half the town does, it is all for nothing. It is a done deal!

I can't afford to live here anymore, so I have to sell and move out. I can't afford to sell, because the taxes are OUTRAGEOUS! and nobody will buy. (except for my wife's conspiracy theory. Maybe more on that later.)

Well after re-reading, this post is a bit incoherent, but I needed to vent. When I cool off, I should be able to handle any followups. If there are any!

My buddy lives up there on Sussex Road and he's fucking livid. He got a tax hike before this for putting up a fucking fence on his property. That's right, a fence. Property taxes are out of control throughout northern Jersey. Where the fuck does all the money go. There's a toll on every road, bridge and parking space in the dam state, with millions of cars on them daily. We pay taxes on everything, yet still nobody can makes ends meet. Time to fire everyone and flush the whole dam system. It simply isn't working. I own a townhouse, technically a piece of air, no individual land only a small community, yet my taxes are closing in on 10k per year. This is so mainly bc I bought last year and it was very new. Bergen County, Hudson County, Essex County and Morris County officials have profitted so much from this housing boom (condos and townhomes especially). They always state that the developments will bring in much more tax revenue for the towns, cities and the state, yet it never seems to be enough. However, only a select few get to build (contracters) at priemium prices using low grade materials and the kickbacks (the ones that have been exposed, granted there are so many more) have been outlandish. Hoboken, and the rest of Hudson County seems to have another official getting busted every month. Yet not before they strike it rich. At least there are some good guys out there still trying to keep it clean, as the wire taps and US officials really have brought down a lot of big names. Still, it's only the tip of the iceberg. I guess I joined in on this rant and took it off its intended course. Oops, sorry bout that.
