I just saw it live! WOW! Mike Myers must've shit his pants.
 Mike Myers and Kanye West came onto the charity telethon on NBC, and Myers just read from the teleprompter, then Kanye started talking about how he feels, and how black people are being ignored, and you could tell he was ad-libbing and he was nervous, and Myers just kinda stood there and waited for him to finish. Then Myers read his next part, and Kanye just goes "GEORGE BUSH DOESN'T CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE." Myers looked over to him with sheer panic and they cut away immediately. That was CLASSIC. Actually, Kanye said some flat-out RETARDED things about AIDS during Live 8.And while I got a good laugh about this, he did really pick the worst time to go on a rant like this.  This was just an effort to get some money and supplies donated for all the people effected by this.  Taking shots at Bush during a telethon devoted to helping the victims really accomplishes nothing.

It's not so much a black thing as it is a poor thing. I'm sure there are poor whites waiting for rescue. It just so happens that the majority of the poor is black in this area. I don't disagree with what he said. It was just a sweeping generalization. Poor people get the shaft everytime.

Good for Kanye. I have absolutely no sympathy for Bush and his actions on this one. Anyone who wants to bash him for his absolutely pathetic work so far has my blessing. Thousands of Americans are dying and starving and now we're just getting to giving real relief. What I want to know is, why when we knew this was going to hit and possibly devestate New Orleans the day before the storm didn't FEMA or anyone in the government think of preparing relief and care shipments for the possibilities of this? I understand that it would take about a day or so to assess the problem though it's inexcusable to take as long as this has to bring people relief.

We do live in a mostly free market economy and that means that the govt should leave it alone aside from punishing those who hurt others. Time is really the best thing for stuff regarding the economy.
