My GF was telling me the cons about the pill. How it screws
up the lining in your stomach or something along those lines. I mean I believe
her and all but I just want to here other people as well say this. Ladies, does
this BC patch work, and are there any side effects? Most of all She doesn’t
have Health benefits, what’s the cost of this? Dumb question, do other forms of
contraceptives work? IE sponge, diaphragm

i will be goin on it soon (well after my next period starts) just  to see how it affects me- i get very VERY bad cycles i asked the gyno if its true you get fat on it she says NO that is a myth and she gave me a 2 month starter pack for a pill called YASMIN- the only side affect she said i will have is spotting when i do not have my period i never heard of the stomache side affect before though

I like the pill because it also regulates your period. I don't think I'd ever go on the patch, or get that shot where it reduces your periods to only a few times a month.   As much as i hate bleeding every month, I know I'd be terrified each month if I didn't get my period.   There's also a new form of birth control out:  The Ol' Whoops-A-Daisy.

The pill shouldn't affect your stomach. The patch theoretically works but it doesn't stick as well as they say it does so you have to be careful. My doc said he preferred the patch as you didn't have to wait for the liver to metabolize the hormones, but I don't really know what a good reason that is. The patch is like various forms of the pill; some people will have spotting, nausea, etc. It is easy because it is once a week, not every day. How about ask the doc rather than a messageboard, and make sure she is not afraid to try lots of different pills etc. until she finds one with minimal side effects. I spent about 3 years trying 4 or 5 different types until finally settling on one I liked. Don't just automatically go for the orth tricyclen or the yasmin or whatever the doc happens to have samples of because the drug rep was just there.

i was on a pill for 10 years and have never had any problems with my
stomach.  as to any other problems, it would depend on how your
girlfriend's body handles the hormones.

I use the Ortho Evra pill and out of curiosity one day I read all the side effects that came written in barely legible letters on the packet and they were pretty frightening. But, I've never had anything bad happen to me and I've never known of anything bad happening to anyone else who uses the pill.

first impression is she's not all that anxious to have sex with you for
some reason, and the stomach stuff is an excuse. I know there's alot of
urban myths out there but this stomach/pill one's new to me. Maybe
she's worried about STD's, and wants you to wear a condom for that
reason, which is reasonable. Or maybe she's just not very sexual, or
maybe you're a selfish lousy lay. These are all just guesses on my

I just started the birth control pill a few days ago to regulate my period. I've been on the pill before but this is the first time it's made me nauseous to the point of throwing up. Since I need to take it, I can't throw in the towel.  My doctor said things will get better as soon as my body gets used to it.I'm also have the IUD and am quite happy with it. I don't have to worry about birth control for 10 years. Silera, it hurts a little when they put it in and you may have some cramping afterwards. Also, remember to use a back up form of birth control for the first month you have it. I'm glad insurance is paying for it. Mine covered me up to 70%. It's well worth the money.

alice if it doesn't get better in 3 months try a different pill. I've tried them all. lots of them make me ill and the ones that don't cause spotting. personally I've had the best luck with regular orthocyclen, not the ortho tri-cyclen. no low dose bs for me!

I"ve never heard of BC doing anything to the stomach.  I have bad endometriosis, so i've been on quite a few types.  The worst thing BC can do is give you blood clots if you are a smoker.  It also screws with your hormones a good bit and some girls go a little batshit right before they have their period on some types of BC.  Two kinds made me a emotional ball of crying mess.  Some guys like that.GEneric forms of BC can cost from $8 to $40 a month.  Planned parenthood i think has a program that can help you afford the pills.Never used the patch.  But i did the injections.  Injections made me bloat.I also tried that seasonal "period 4 times a year".   I bleed every two weeks, and i've heard the same from GFs and my cramps which are already bad were 20 times worse.  Everyone is different and reacts different.  The only thing with the stomach lining i can attribute is maybe they were talking about endometriosis.  When endo is bad bad, it can cling to the bottom of your intestines and cause severe IBS.  Endo can also make it so you can't have babies.  Like me.  Good luck d00d.  It's really sweet you are looking up info for your girl.

Ovcon.
