http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050830/ap_en_tv/music_alicia_keys

Unplugged is back with Alicia Keys, woohoo. I was just thinking, shouldn't rock acts be on it. It's supposed to be a time to set down the electric guitars and chill out. Would Alicia Keys' performance be any different that her regular act?

I love Alicia Keys, but I get your point. Though she might sound very
different with no backup musicians and just a room mike on the piano.
I'll be watching it.

You know, the FIRST THING I thought to myself when I saw this is "how long is it going to take them to put on a hack act like Maroon 5?" And then I started to read the Article...

Keys' performance, filmed July 14 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, is a group effort. Mos Def, Common and Damian Marley are her guests, as well as Maroon 5's Adam Levine.

"Adam Levine and I remade the Rolling Stones' classic 'Wild Horses' and it is right up my alley, that whole style" Keys said. "It has a style of its own but still stays very true to the classic arrangement and I love it."

TOOL also would make a good unplugged show, but i highly doubt they would do it, and i dont blame them, MTV is nothing but reality crap now, they have lost all credibility like someone else said, and i think they are trying to gain some face again by bringing back Unplugged. Oh well ,,!,, ,,!,, you mtv

But I've seen Alicia Keys unplugged before. I've seen her do
performances on tv with just a piano. How will this be any
different?
Oh yea, she's talented, I can't take that away from her. But I just don't like her. I can see how people would enjoy her and I'm not going to bash people's tastes in music. Well, at least not this time.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's 12-string acoustic performance of "Pride And Joy" was one of the first and best Unpluggeds ever.

yes!! There is also some other great 12 string stuff he did at the same performance (I think). sad he died just a few months later

i have a Stevie Ray Vaughan related question ...

my uncle plated this amazing record for me and i can't remember it ... he played on a female 'popstar' song -- maybe a white chick soul singer ... the song is fairly ordinary 80s pop drek, but as the song fades there is this sick, insane guitar solo ...

anyone know the singer/song
