I don't look for the Supermodel type. I look /at/ them, yes, but not for them. I do prefer a natural girl and I'm not just saying this to make points I honestly do prefer the more 'normal' looking girl to the knockout (see: a thread I started a month or so ago Hot vs. Average) but attractive is always a major major plus. Anyway as for what I'd like in a girl....

I'd like a girl who wears glasses
Good body
I'd like a girl who makes the first move mostly because I don't pick up on subtelties easily.
I'd like a girl with darker hair.
I'd like a girl who can simultaneously go from dorky librarian-esque nerd at day into complete freak at night.
I'd like a girl with a dark, wicked sense of humor who could dish it out just as well as she could take it.
I'd like a girl who could be sarcastic around people who won't get it and smile politely as she's laughing at them on the inside.
I'd lke a girl with an interest in rare, esoteric, weird things be it movies, books, music, knowledge in general.
I'd like a girl with a sort of fascination in the macabre.
I'd like an intelligent girl
I'd like a girl who'd be into kinky role play sex.
and finally I'd like a girl who has a mental problem. Bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, I'm not sure why, and I'm not sure why I prefer it and it's not a joke. The more I think about it the more it is honestly becoming a qualification rather than a turn on.

Personally... All I look for is a girl who has a Brain and an Opinion. You have no idea how many girls will "yes" you to death in a conversation. That's the main thing I look for in a Girl. I think if every guy were to respond as brutally honest as possible, we would see a pretty interesting difference of opinion based on age.

In a nutshell, most guys under the age of 30 are willing to forgive certain personality deficiencies in a woman if her physical attributes are beyond reproach. Those of us on the other side of it would state the exact opposite.

A woman with a keen mind and a sharp wit, along with a sense of confidence, are the ones that will turn my head far quicker than some empty headed blonde bombshell bimbo. There must obviously be some sense of physical attraction, but it rates a bit lower on the scale as you gain some wisdom (and years).

EMB - I think you need to distinguish between what people look for in loving relationships, or platonic relationships as opposed to the purely physical.

I'm very fortunate to have all conceivable aspects with my wife.

I'm also exteremely fortunate to have many intimate platonic relationships.

As GVAC said, it's partially a function of age and maturity. I've always believed though, that friendship and intimacy makes people more attractive to each other.

I also found it impossible to pursue a physical relationship with someone who was not intelligent and from whom I could not learn. A rapier sharp wit and good sense of humor are important as well

You don't <i>have</i> to be like that, but it would be great.

Of course personality supercedes anything else. You can look like a knockout, but can have low self esteem or other problems. Plus it's much better for me to have a girl that thinks for her self, who isn't immature, and has some idea of what she wants to do in the future.

I don't want a girl who smokes at all or drinks heavily. If she drinks causually, that's ok, but if she does it overboard I don't want to be associated with some one like that.
