Has anyone else had this or known someone who has?

I'm pretty sure I have it. I'm going to the doctor this afternoon but my hand/wrist/arm have been KILLING me since last Thursday.

My whole job is at the computer 7 hours a day; marketing/layout work. This will totally screw me if I have to take off work but I don't want to do any permanent damage to my hand. Ugh.

As I massage therapist I've worked on many people that have it so I know the pain you're in. Get a massage!! Trust me it will do wonders for you. And not just once either. Try at least twice a month. Just be sure you tell the therapist you have it and ask them to pay extra attention to that area...including your upper arm and shoulders.

You really should get one of the those mouse pads with the wrist elevator thing attached to it. I'm not sure what they're called. Try to switch hands every once in a while. Make sure your posture is good when you're sitting at your desk. Icing it will obviously help too. When I get home from work I will look through my books to find some stretches that will help.

Surgery is another option but nobody wants that. If they dr suggests it, don't worry. It's a very common procedure.

No one's made a Yanky Cranky Shop joke yet?! COME ON!!!

But seriously, that stuff is nasty. Our bassist Jenn had it and had to take it real easy at practice for weeks. Hope you can get it taken care of quick. Maybe with some anti inflammatory pills or a brace.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm getting that mouse and some gel arm/wrist supports. I'm typing with one finger on my left hand.

Turns out it is a 'Ganglion Cyst' that is caused by repetitive motion. I'm not supposed to move it for 2 weeks and take some anti-inflamatory meds. If this works I won't need surgery. Keep your fingers crossed.

Percocets lots and lots of Percocets and you know "oregano" is a miracle cure i hear.

All seriousness i hope all goes well, and if you get the masssage your work health insurance might pay for it, an acupuncturist is another alternative.

I work at a Grocery store, so i'm no stranger to it...

I
wrecked my hand pretty bad pulling a skid a few years ago...my ring
finger and pinky finger on my right hand were numb for weeks, and this
last week i got knocked over by a big box and messed up the same hand
again....

And now that ive become a cashier pretty much all the
time, it does nothing but aggrivate it...like every once in a while i
get a lot of numbness and when it gets really bad it feels like there's
a knife going right thorough the middle of my hand..

Am I the only one who'd rather have "Carpal Tunnel" than a "Ganglion Cyst"? That sounds nasty.
