He was badass in LC, and harkens back more to the Connery style of Bond.

Honestly, they need to stop trying to modernize every Bond film and go back to setting them in the 50's and 60's He doesn't work with the Cold War and just becomes a bunch of lame jokes and cliches.

They need to model every new Bond film after From Russia With Love. Anything else is unacceptable.

Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Moore were all about the same age. They could have gone back to the fifties/early sixties with each new Bond. I don't see how they can do that now unless they just make a clean break and start from scratch again.

And bring back S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

The first teaser trailer for Casino Royale is up on the net. I like it, though I'm a little confused. I heard it was a prequel, and M talks about how she shouldn't have promoted Bond, and Bond talks about 00s having a short life expectancy.

However, Judy Dench is playing M again, and has Goldfinger established, she was a successor to a previous M that Bond worked for.

So maybe its not a prequel, but a restart of the franchise (similar to Batman Begins), but using some of the same supporting cast.

Here's the link to the trailer:

http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/casinoroyale/

You always know that hero is going to win.

My hope is that this story will be a return to the smaller type of Bond story that were in the novels, and that was featured in From Russia With Love. Stories where Bond is handling a spy mission, but the mission is not to save the world from the hands of a meglomaniac who has some doomsday device. I think this movie is supposed to be that type of story, so my interest is more stirred by this movie than previous Bond movies.
