Greetings. As I write this now, I am currently
poolside at a lovely Marriott property in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have a
glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and a nice bowl of granola and
yogurt for breakfast. I've had a great vacation so
far... the flight in was great, and everything has gone pretty
smoothly.  The weather has been absolutely fantastic.  The
shopping is wonderful... and the food... oh lord.  So good. 
The Mexican is out of this world down here. Sedona was beautiful, I'll have some pics once I get my camera uploading to my computer... my camera bag is in the car. 
I make it a mission when I go on vacation to eat at places that
aren't normally available back home.  So I'm avoiding most chain
restaurants like the plague, although I did try "Black Angus" last
night... not bad.  I actually went there because I was reading
Doogie's blog and got a chuckle out of the Patton Oswalt bit he posted
about Black Angus.Tommorow is Spa Day.  I will be going to a local spa and getting pampered in a manly way.

Tenbats...do they have the open fireplaces out there at nighttime burning mesquite?  I loved that about Arizona. I don't know if you're into architecture but a good side trip is out to <a href="http://www.franklloydwright.org/index.cfm?section=tour&action=taliesinwest" target="_self">Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesen West School.</a>  Just throwing it out there.

Great restaurant recommendation - Sassi.Ask the concierge, he/she will tell you great things about it.  The food is phenomenal.

Wow, Rich... with all the plugs you've dropped for Crankcase, you give me static about posting about my vacation?  Jesus H Taco.  Besides... I wanted to share my pictures.Anywho, I tried toing to Taliesin west, but they don't let you walk around and take it in on your own pace.  You HAVE TO TAKE THE 90 MINUTE TOUR OR ELSE.I don't deal well with that kind of structure.And what the hell is wrong with getting a nice massage from an ASU Coed working her way through school?  I got one last year and it was great.  1) It's about 90 degrees here, no humidity.  Sedona was in the 70's when I was up there.2) I've eaten at Black Angus, Los Olivos, a few small breakfast places that had incredible pancakes, and a really nice BBQ place in sedona.  I want to try "Roy's", which is a haute Hawaiian fusion place.3) I'm drving a mustang convertible.  It's a little loose in the turns, but it's a sweet ride.4) Did I mention the obscene amount of breast implants I've seen out here?  It's fucing ridiculous.  I went to a sports bar the other night and I saw a Hawaiian girl in a McNabb jersey - and she modified it into a low-cut miniskirt dress.  With huge implants.This is my kind of town.

Oh, and the zoo was nice too.  There is an open-air monkey area where they are right there.  You have to wash your hands after leaving the area. My comment to the keeper: "I've seen this movie before.  It's called Outbreak".OK... off for lunch.  Pictures tonight, if the Jeff Shain Remote PC mojo keeps working.

I dont know if I'd call Tenbats "sweet" but Dale's attack reaks of alternate screen name.  A newbie wouldn't form an opinion that quickly.  That's someone who already knew this board and had a negative opinion of Tenbats coming in here to cut him down.Wow, lots of people are getting stalkers these days!

Well, a little update...My laptop died.  Which sucks.In arizona, they have photoradar, which means that if you're caught speeding, you'll get a ticket in the mail.  3 points plus 200 bucks fine.  No chance of getting out of it.  Which is ridiculous.

On the contrary, if I were on Vacation, the last thing I would be thinking about would be posting on this message board.Again, not a good buddy with Tenbats or anything but I have to dispute that.The messageboard is a fun creative outlet and place to do something on downtime.  You can't be on the go every moment of your vacation, so checking the board is just a natural way to chill.If I had internet access on a vacation I'd definitely check up for at least a short time here and there in my room.

GREETINGS FROM WICHITA!Seriously - it's like 80 degrees here, with no humidity, clear skies. Just gorgeous. My folks moved back here 4 years ago after 40 in DC, and I have to make an annual trek and decided now over the holidays because I hate holiday travel, and it's never been this nice here. AND NOW - i find out the Skins are in Kansas City to play the Chiefs on Sunday!
