Just the set up to the argument alone is fucking rediculous.  It's not Rock and Roll.  I could really give 2 shits who's in the Hall of Fame or who isn't because I can't respect an organization that hasn't honored Black Sabbath yet, but that's beside the point.Get your own Hall of Fame and honor Rappers and Hip Hop acts in it.  Leave Rock and Roll alone.

So please, explain the strict definitions of who is allowed into the R&R HOF.  Can't be the use of a guitar, because plenty of hip-hop acts use live bands.  Plus, like I said, what about all the blues, soul and R&B acts already in?

I dont think blowhard has a problem with black people in the R&R HOF its just that he feels RAP artists shouldnt be allowed in. It's not a rasict thing. It's like letting Joe Montana into the Baseball HOF. I understand his point of view, but honestly it's not like a sports HOF. Music artists dont dream of one day being in the hall of fame, it's just an added bonus to their amazing careers. They would much rather sell a couple million albums then to have a plaque on a wall in some silly building.

The Blowhard segment, once again, started well but crashed and burned with Blowhard taking over the show and very little funney coming through.My problem with Blowhard and Crazy Jen is the following, and I'm going to put this in very large font so people can see my point:I am trying very hard to get someone who is very close to me to get into Ron and Fez again.  For them, it is a hard sell, because they long for the WNEW days and was turned off a lot by not being able to hear them on a regular basis live.  And that's not a DC vs. NY thing.  Being without them for 2 years has made them jaded.I have been trying to convince them that Ron and Fez are back and funnier than ever and rambling Blowhard segments DOES NOT MAKE MY JOB ANY EASIER.

I was very jaded too, but just hearing the show again turns you around.  Did you tell those people to do the 3 day free trial Tenbats?  I don't see how after 3 days of live shows they aren't hooked again.  They boys never missed a beat.  The show is as funny as ever and they didn't even need an adjustment period.  They're even great talking sports, which I detest.I know the above question is kinda dumb because OF COURSE you told them about the free trial, I just can't believe that after hearing the boys again they'd question even the online subscription.

If people can't appreciate R&F because a friend of the show gets a little airtime, then I'm not going to worry about them to begin with. Crazy Jen has been on an average of once every 2 weeks - Blowhard has been on maybe once a week since they've been on, usually to talk baseball, and rarely with anything more outrageous than expressing his love for the Jets. We've actually heard more about him being this crazy conservative with a blog more from Ron than we've actually heard from blowhard himself. The bottom, bottom, bottom line here is that YOU have a hard on against both Jen & Blowhard.

I am a huge music fan. Everything from hardcore/punk to death metal/grindcore to old country and new wave. So I dont consider myself closed minded. I do think that most modern rap is complete materialistic crap, bordering on a minstrel show (look at the videos). The videos portray an image of Black people as ignorant fools. As a person of mixed ethnicity myself (Scottish, Native American, and Jamaican) I am especially sensitive to the images that are portrayed. Of course I would sooner die than ask for it to be banned, I despise censorship, but I still find most of it asinine. There are some rap groups that are absolutely legendary however Public Enemy are more punk rock than 90% of "punk" bands out there. ForChrist's sake they recorded and toured with Anthrax so they definitely deserve to be in the Hall. Sorry for the sermon to anyone not wanting to read a lecture.

It's interesting to me that if you go into a music store, very often they give rap it's own section seperated from the Rock and pop.  It's for a reason.Would you put Robert Goulet in the R & R Hall of Fame?  I wouldn't.  He performs live with a guitarist, he's been around and succesful for years.  But he's NOT Rock & Roll.  Rap isn't either.

This might sound stupid..but why not have a "Musician" Hall of fame instead of Rock and Roll HoF.  This is the way it should be.  Good musicians are good muscians regardless of style.  I want to see a place where I can see Ravi Shankar , Buddy Rich, Les Paul and Louis Armstrong get recognized for there contribution to music and the art of musicianship and not how many god damn records some band sold.  It shouldnt be a popularity contest.

Matty just the fact that we are talking about these people 2-3-4 days...a week after they appear on the show, shows you that they HAVE brought something to the show. Ron and Fez know what they are doing. They know that people will either love or hate the "friends of the show". Especially someone like Blowhard who is so adamant about his points of views and logic. R&F have been on XM for just over a month. They are developing characters, callers, and bits. People in NY, DC, and Florida might be sick of some of the regulars, but what about the rest of the nation that's only been listening for the past month?  Being on Satellite radio is a lot different then being on FM radio. XM gets thousands of new subscribers monthly from all across the nation. That means they have to practically introduce the show over and over again almost weekly to all the new listeners. The talk show on satellite radio is brand new to everyone, and I know Ron and Fez have what it takes to make it work.

It does come down to Ron and Fez.  We Armchair Produce the show, but they're the ones with their jobs on the line.Plus, they know radio.  None of us have an 1/8th the amount of knowledge of radio that Ron and Fez do.  This is something I've had to accept as a fan.  I won't like EVERYTHING they do, but a vast majority of it is fucking great.  If I'm sick of sports I tune away for a little while.  If Crazy Jenn is going into her 8th "last point" I tune away.  But I always go back.

It's just a statement.  Blowhard is very conservative with his views, and comes across like a lot of conservative pundits that make big ratings as radio hosts saying outrageous things.  That's gonna play well with a lot of listeners in the red states who swing that way.

The thing is, XM-era Blowhard really hasn't been the raging Republican he was, even at WJFK. The HOF talk was really about it, and I didn't think that was that outrageous; the talk with NaKeshia in week 2 came across more like someone who doesn't like change in their backyard. Anyone who thinks Blowhard is a diehard right winger hasn't been listening very closely. While he tends to be conservative in his politics, his social views are quite liberal.

He's also knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics, ranging from sports to TV and movies and pop culture. I always get a big kick out of him.

Given my druthers, we wouldn't hear Blowhard on the Ron and Fez show much longer. He'd have his own weekend show on XM 202.

bit where Heckler comes in, does a Editorial type rant like Louis Black
once a week, he does phones for a little while (20 mins?), and then
he's off the show. That might work if he's so desparate for air and
R&F want to cultivate a character without driving it into the

As mentioned before, people said that characters are being created and callers developed for the sat radio show.  Think  of those  words  "created" " developed".   I know Blowhard and he is a true friend of not only the show but those  who know him.  He is also very  knowledgable on many subjects not just music. Blowhard is also affecting people since  they find it necessary to comment on his appearances.  How ever I think calling him a nazi is just plain wrong. You can criticize what is said  and disagree with his positions  but namecalling is really below the belt ( but then maybe that is the namecallers  favorite position anyway).    Radio is there to get you thinking and laughing and most of all participating. Ron and Fez are absolutely superb in not only getting the laughter  but also character development and audience participation.  Before the namecalling   think of the entertainment and the value that we all get from the show.   Blowhard is owed an apology.

Perry's got a point.  Pissing people off is always good ratings.  How many people listen to O and A just to get pissed off?  I even read Ann Coulter's columns sometimes to get pissed off.  It's the same thing.i think i'm just annoyed because I used to agree with heckler on alot of things, but Blowhard is more extreme.

Which changes the statement. And for that, I apologize to Rich. As
for the rest of it... how exactly am I cruel? And how do I hurt
people? I am honest, but I don't attack people out of necessity
for attacking. I go after people who deserve it because of how
they are on the show (in the case of Heckler and Jen) or have pissed me

I don't hide behind my keyboard.  I actually remember you confronting me one night.  I could be wrong.  As I remember, I kind of chuckled and kept walking.We met briefly on the street outside the Hard Rock the night Ron and Fez came back up to NYC for one last big show.  The night Anthony stopped by and they pulled the plug in DC because of the O&A chant.  We spoke politely for a second and moved on.  There was no confrontation that I remember.  I don't think I had any kind of board related disagreements with you at that point.Listen, I don't have a "we gotta work this out in person" problem with you Tenbats.  We have our differences on the board, and that's about it.  I would be more than happy to discuss them in person, but I won't make threats, veiled or unveiled.
