Laptop Keyboard issues

<p>Every once in a while my laptop keyboard becomes possessed and starts typing letters I didn't hit. If I hit S it will come out SA, R will be WR2 etc, etc. I reboot but still have the same problem. The only way I've been able to fix it is if I start slamming the keyboard with my fists hitting all different keys at once. But that doesn't work all the time. I called Gateway and they told me I needed a new keyboard. Not true. This can be fixed but I can't figure it out. Someone else had a similiar problem and they hit Fn + F5. That however didn't work for me.</p><p>Anyone experience this problem before?</p>

<p><font color="#990000" size="2">I had the same kind of issue with a Dell laptop at work.&nbsp;The OS&nbsp;was rebuilt from scratch (it was&nbsp;to be done anyway) and the problem was still there.&nbsp;I even re-flashed the Bios (there was a newer version available) and it didn't change anything.</font></p><p><font color="#990000" size="2">I swapped the keyboard with another laptop that was being used for parts (That one&nbsp;had a bad motherboard and was out of warranty) and that cleared it up. I don't profess to know much about computers, especially laptops, but it sounds to me like a couple switches are being pressed when you press one.&nbsp; Sounds like a hardware issue so the new keyboard is probably needed.
