Infinity has finally started making their post-Stern plans official.  <a href="http://www.dcrtv.com/" target="_self">DCRTV</a> reports that some of the stations carrying Stern will flip to the JACK format, and possibly right away.  Others are flipping to the <a href="http://www.infinitybroadcasting.com/freefm/station_map.php" target="_self">FREE</a> format, which seems to be an all-talk format similar the O&A/R&F version of WNEW and the current incarnation of WJFK.  As expected, <a href="http://www.infinitybroadcasting.com/freefm/pers_david_lee_roth.php" target="_self">David Lee Roth</a> is getting the morning slot in the East on many of the FREE affiliates (not Baltimore or Washington though.  WJFK's midday "<a href="http://www.infinitybroadcasting.com/freefm/pers_junkies.php" target="_self">Junkies</a>" are taking that slot), and <a href="http://www.infinitybroadcasting.com/freefm/pers_adam_carolla.php" target="_self">Adam Corolla</a> is taking the West Coast.  Also, some guy named "<a href="http://www.infinitybroadcasting.com/freefm/pers_rover.php" target="_self">Rover</a>" is taking over a few slots around the country.  What is brand new is that <a href="http://www.infinitybroadcasting.com/freefm/pers_penn_jillette.php" target="_self">Penn Jillette</a> will be taking a midday slot on scattered stations around the country.

Im just glad here in baltimore that we will get the junkies again, and in a timeslot they did really well in before the el sol experiment.Supposedly the junkies will be on 105.7 in baltimore around noon for the switch to FREE.Does this mean music will be dead on 105.7 HFS yet again?Hopefully the junkies come on today and replace the worst radio show.  The Ed Norris show, this guy used to be chief of police for bmore or something then went to jail for embezzling funds.He is worse then 10 Peter Rosenberg shows

A Teller show would be most excellent.  Four hours of subaudible grunts.he did a book review on NPR (maybe fresh air) last month that was a bit off putting ... i didn't know what i thought his voice might sound like, but he sounded very weird ...

I would HATE to just dismiss all these shows like Hoo Hoo wanted us to do with WNEW back in the day.  But there's just NOTHING going on with any of them that makes me want to give them any of my time at all.Stern, O&A and Ron and Fez all had some heat and buzz on them.  These shows just sound like crap.

Penn was on today, I caught about 10 minutes of his show.   I was driving into work he was talking about how people on radio can not say "there is no god".  I think his show may be interesting but it must be hard to do a 1 hour show. Kinda hard to get any momentum going and if you do the show is over.  Of the new shows that is the only one I will try to listen to.

leslie. I can hear her reading her one liners and questions off a page.
She's so anal. How does someone who needs to read her lines verbatim
get into radio? Like listening to a drill seargent, or going to the
dentist. Either way, you feel like you're getting drilled.

On my way to work I had WJFK on for a second before tuning into O&A. I heard the Sports Junkies using the same "crying baby" sound effect Ron and Fez used to use for Bill O'reilly. I wonder if Ron and Fez left it at WJFK or if thw Junkies just got it from the same Sound Effect library/CD.

FWIW....she was doing well at WNEW. Her ratings were growing and she had a pretty good following. She WAS leading into O&A after all. True, she wasnt pulling in O&A or R&F numbers, but that is expected for middays. The WAXQ show was doomed from the start as it was going up against Hoo Hoo. I wasnt listening to that show since the powers that be insisted on the Chick playing music every break. Once they started on a good rant or groove, it was interrupted by some freaking Eagles song I got sick of in the 80's. Couple that with Bob Buckman as a co-host messing up the chemistry and you get trouble! Despite this,she had numbers that showed improvement over time,but the impatient pricks that always seem to mae these decisions decided to say hell with it and go back to all music. Free FM does not have any jocks with a proven audience with the exception of the Chick. If there are no internal politics mucking up the joint like happened at WNEW, she should be successful at 92.3 cuz IMHO, this show is good and is probably the only entertaining talk show left on terrestrial radio.

The Radio Chick makes Booker look like O&A.  She fucking blows.I turned on some HORRIFIC show today at like 11 or so.  Fucking terrible.  Some team.  They should start banging each other up the ass on air just to get something for people to talk about.That whole station is fucking done.

I've given WFNY a try for 2 straight days and it blows sooo bad.David Lee Roth sucks; all he does is blabber about nothing. The radio chick's show sucks. The only thing good about her show is that she's got a hot voice. the only show worth listening to is the booker show and I'd hate to see him go down with that sinking ship they call WFNY.I can't see how Penn Jillett can contribute to the show, neither.

every time i flip it on during O&A or R&F commercials, i find myself actually talking to the radio, about how bad it sucks and how unlistenable it is. Chiasano and crew have got to be in complete shock about what has happened so far. I know they don't get the ratings right away, but sweet jesus, i'd be suprised if this format lasts past friday.

Booker has a half decent show and it should be moved to afternoons or mornings. Anyone else notice that sometimes Booker's voice changes and it sounds mysteriously like Opie's?The Radio Chick needs to find a replacement for Chuck, he has top make an inane, and even worse an unfunny comment to everything she says. Without a funny sidekick i'm not sure what we're supposed to be entertained by...certainly not her! Butchie is cool tho : )

i also have to admit i'm a fan of the Booker show...though the Sportguy on the show is more of the reason why.  i have only listened to it a few times since it was moved and wish it would go back to the old slot.  i listen to the 7 o'clock replay of O&A so i probably won't get to listen much anymore.

Booker-He's so gay he is at the bottom, even though he's more annoying than some of the others above.4.The Radio Chick-Just nothing there. Total snoozefest. And those pics have 20 lbs of airbrushing. Her sidekicks add less than Robin Quivers. 3. Tom Leykis-COME ON! Trolls talking about women, no thanks. Big dopey radio voice. Yea, you're a big tough guy who knows treating women like crap is the way. You keep telling yourself that. 2. Howard Stern-He has so much tallent and enterained us in the past only to turn into everything he made fun of and fucking become a parody of himself. Sidekicks are tits on a bull. Gordon Liddy and The Greaseman (both who worked there at one time) but nothing about Bill O'Reilly or Ron & Fez. Much more could have been done with simply the history of the last year, and less time spent describing their bits or appearances.

 Anyone have any inside dope?  The Drudge Report is claiming early numbers in the 1.7-range.

My response: where? Where the fuck did these jackholes broadcast that enough people listened to them that they were ranked anywhere other than dead last place? A retard colony? A deaf retard colony? A suicidal radio cult of deaf retards? They even make DLR sound less like shit and more like just a wet fart.Penn - Ehhh, he's alright. I can't get into just one hour a day, though. If I'm going to commit, I need him to do the same; and stop talking about his family. Radio Chick - Hasn't been any good since they got fired from 'NEW ... the first time. Oh yeah, Booker - Kind of funny at times, relies on gimmicky shit too much. Not the worst on the station, i.e. I'll listen if I can't find anything else. Jake and Jackie - Here I see potential. They're a little rough around the edges, tend to go over the line into urban hipster, 'too cool for the room' territory occasionally, but I like their chemistry and they seem genuine and like they're having a good time. Talk comes easy, very conversational, they interact well with the listeners, and both are developing funny and interesting on-air characters that I want to hear.

I was a big Chick fan back in the WNEW days. I listen to them fairly
often now, but lately I have been more and more listening to other
things from 3 till 7. They are still fun and all, but I think they are
more meant for mid-days than afternoon drive. But they have had their moments since their return.As
I type, I am listening to Jake and Jackie. I have been listening for
about a week now and I must say they are entertaining. I dunno if they
are "afternoon drive" or "morning drive" material, but they could
easily fit into the 7-11 slot one day.

I may be the only one, but I kind of dig the Penn Jillette show.  I've never caught it live, but WJFK does a free podcast of the show, so it's a cool thing to have on an mp3 player to listen to when stuck in traffic or standing in line.  The show is only an hour and still tends to be all over the place, Penn does tend to keep coming back to certain topics ("The Aristocrats", atheism, magic, etc.), and his sidekick (not teller) is kind of lame, but it's still pretty interesting.  It pales in comparison to R&F, but it's still not a bad thing to have on demand when you want to listen to something besides music.

Junkies first ratings:In morning drive, WJFK-FM netted a 4.4 share among the age 25-to-54 "money" demo for 8th place in the rolling November-to-January Arbitrend average. That was down only a little bit from Howard Stern's 4.6 share in the fall. But, when you break down the numbers to reflect only the post-Stern radio universe after 1/1, sources tell DCRTV that WJFK-FM's full-day audience is below a 2.0 share. We're told that Stern had a 5.5 in November, a 5.4 in December, and that the Junkies had a 2.3 morning drive share in January. In Baltimore, via WHFS, the news for the Junkies was even worse. another penn fan here, but not really of the sidekick; he just kinda laughs on cue every 45 seconds.  penn is great basically on his own, i didn't realize the show was only an hour and figured we were getting the shortened-slot broadcast.  the ones with gilbert godfried recently were hilarious, a great show to throw on after ron and fez end and before don and mike come on.with any luck he'll get an extra hour, definitely better than falafel

I'm going to give some credit to the Dave show! He throws stuff out there, and asks for the callers to counterpoint. Some of the topics are pretty good. If he would slow down his motor-mouth, it could be a decent show.And the "Chuck and Butch Show" is prettty entertaining. And funny.

Almost every Free FM show out there is available for download (in at least parts) right from itunes. Some are more frequent than others in their updates. Penns was daily, and is very good. Be warned, haters: Don and Mike are one of the top talk radio show podcasts in the entire country - last week, they came in 2nd in that category (behind some Harry Potter thing! ha!), and of the 30,000 total podcasts out there, D&M were in the top 100. Just a warning - not a sermon.

This will make sense to at most about 4 or 5 people on this site.  On Wednesday's R&F, Mikey D announced that he had joined his brother's band "Jason Garfield".  That sounded familiar to me, but I wasn't sure why.  <a href="http://www.jasongarfield.com/" target="_self">JasonGarfield.com</a> is a website for a juggler, but it still didn't click.  Then I was listening to Penn Jillette's 3/30 show via podcast and realized why it was familiar.  There's a video out there of juggler Chris Bliss doing a 3 ball routine to the Beatles' "Golden Slumbers".  Apparently jugglers don't like the video because it's pretty basic juggling, but everybody loves it.  As mentioned on Penn Jillette's show, Penn suggested to afficianado juggler JASON GARFIELD that he ought to do the same routine with 5 balls to show people how the routine would be done with good juggling.  So anyway, here are the videos:<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z965UUEmdB8&search=chris%20bliss" target="_self">Chris Bliss' 3 ball routine</a><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsDA7Ls4w-M&search=jason%20garfield" target="_self">Jason Garfield's 5 ball routine</a> (damn that Mikey D can juggle)
