Yea, I didn't want to come off too dicky, like I always do. It just seems a lot of people get married for the wrong reasons. I hope you and your guy work out. I mean we all hope to find that special someone we can live life fully with and grow old with.
Thanks everyone!! It's all very exciting but there is so much stuff to think about.

I want a destination wedding, meaning we all fly somewhere and have the ceremony/reception and then we would stay behind for the honeymoon in the same place. I'm thinking Puerto Rico. I was leaning towards Mexico but the marriage laws there are a pain. Puerto Rico is a US territory so it is a lot easier there.

Only 7 more months of being single! You know the scary thing is that my little sister (the long lost board member 'Lulu') is my maid of honor. She turns 18 in December so I have a feeling she's gonna try and plan something crazy. We'll see.

i'm sure I got several pieces of advice before my wife and I married over five years ago, but one really stuck out to me and I remember it to this day--I hope to pass it on to my kids one day:

A man I worked for, and eventually became pretty good friends with (He's my father's age) told me just after the big day

"Remember, you married your girlfriend"

I let it sink in for a minute, and said, "I believe I understand that". He said, "Good, now live it".

Now, five years later when things may not be going too well, I can remember that and instead of thinking unhealthy thoughts about this woman who I may be angry with at the moment, I remember that she is still the woman I felt strongly enough about to promote from girlfriend to wife, and my thoughts go to nicer places. Hey, it works for me. GOod luck to you.

Well I see that the trend continues for 2006...Congratulations hun. May you and your man have nothing but the best. And try not to ruin any moments as I have a tend to do.
Congratulations and best of luck, Aggie. Have a blast at your wedding; don't spend the entire time trying to talk to everyone. It's your day, so enjoy!
Be careful many people get engaged on this thing. Not so many get married.

Thank you SO much for all the well wishes. It went GREAT! It was so much fun and everything went very smoothly. It rained for like 20 minutes right after we walked down the aisle after the ceremony but it got sunny again. That was the only kinda bad thing, even though they say it's good luck. The beautiful bridesmaid is my little sis, better known as "Lulu" on rf.net.

Thanks so much everyone for the compliments, it was such a perfect day! I may be back up at Christmas time Amy so let me know if there's anything going on. (I miss you guys....ahhh, the good old days of Bar 9 and Hooters!)

Yes, Gvac, she used to be like 13, now she's 18 almost 19. SCARY!

Tenbat, we took them AFTER. I took a few by myself and with my sister before at my house, but everything was after the ceremony and before the reception that was posed. The rest were pretty much candid. I really liked my photographer. But it depends on if you guys are old fashioned and don't want to see each other before. We didn't want to so that nixed taking the photos before...do what you feel right, don't let them pressure you. There's plenty of time after but it wouldn't keep you from the reception as long if you did it before.

We didn't go on the honeymoon yet, we're doing it in August and going to Lake Tahoe. I'm so excited. I've wanted to go there since I saw Godfather 2.

I can't help it, sorry, here's a few more.

Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I've been there four times now and hate leaving in the winter or summer. You'll love it but make sure to hit John Ravize's photo studio and pick up a photo for the memories. The guy is awesome and gives a ton of his money to protect the area. Clinton/Gore used to have some of his photos up in the White House while they were there. Sweet work that would be a great wedding reminder. You're going to love that place!
