Hi guys...

(this might be a novel...leave if you want to avoid it)

I have been lurking around here since Jan 03 and I have recently made DotCommando :-). I read the boards daily and I understand ...at least the main posters...everyones sense of humor...so bring the humor!! I laugh out loud daily from reading the boards.

But I do have a question/opinion to ask everyone here...If you would like to answer....humorously or seriously..go nuts...maybe you can make me laugh.

Anyway..... I am a drummer of 22 years (main priority) but my full time job is a software developer for a lawfirm in LI working with Powerbuilder and SQL. I have 2 herniated discs in my back ..L5S1 and L45. I had a microdiscectomy on both discs in 2002 and my back was GREAT until this past Memorial Day. I lifted a heavy speaker that day and I fucked my back up something fierce.

I have been working from home since then, THANK Jebus. My company has been gracious enough to let me VPN in every day and continue to work. I am doing everything I can to get better (Phys therapy, etc) and get back to work. (I might have to have surgery again, but going for a second opinion)

My question is....I want to thank my boss and my company for everything they have done for me. I want to assure them I am working my ass off. To my knowledge, they really havent done anything like this for any other employees (I have been there for 10 years now and the company is 13 years old). How should I go about showing my appreciation for what they have done for me...

Thanks guys and gals!

Jam Master J

if they have a Company Newsletter place a Thank You note on it. and just keep doing a good job from home. anything more than that would be too much. Sorry to hear about your back problem and hopefully you can get some permanent relief. my wife had sugery on a herniated disc over ten years ago and it turned out to be very successful....

I'm sorry about your back problems. I've had a microdiscectomy on
my L5-S1 in 2001. After surgery things were GREAT but I pulled a
patient off the bed the wrong way like an idiot a year ago and the pain
is back. I did it all, PT, injections...etc but the one thing
that helped me out totally now that the pain has been gone for 6 months
is acupuncture. Once a week in the beginning and then every other
week. Not the Chinese kind but the kind a pain management doctor
does because he has the lidocaine to inject after acupuncture. It
worked wonders. Are you seeing a pain management dr?
Hopefully he can do something like that for you. Good luck!

I just got the number of an acupunturist the other day, but I was a little weary. Does it really work?

The pain is getting better, I can walk and stand without pain for longer a little longer than 10 minutes now, then it slowly goes down hill from there...like that is any good....a month ago I couldnt stand for longer than 5 minutes without agonizing pain.

I was seeing a spine specialist for physical thereapy, but the guy is a fucking moron and the therapists are worse.I am looking for a new doctor. I was on Vicoprofin for about 3 months. It stopped helping and I dont take it anymore.

I think I will look into the acupuncturist more.

Thanks!!!!
