View Full Version : Ron & Fez need listener promotion

The one thing Opie and Anthony are REALLY good at, is marketing themselves via the listeners. (word of mouth)

They're marketing whores.

Ron & Fez have the high quality content, but we need to come up with something to market them and spread the word.

I want to see my favorite national radio show blow up to hugh proportions.

I know stickers have been discussed, but there has to be something we can do.

I was thinking something that focuses on Ron & Fez's comedy skillz

See
XM haven't been promoting O&A because they saw how Sirius lost
Hyndai all because of Stern, so when Stern shows up, they'll promote
O&A as XM's equivalent.

I don't quite know where Ron &
Fez fit into that equation from XM's perspective. The fact that
O&A gave R&F time on their channel might mean that TO XM,
R&F are just another O&A type show. Now we all understand
that isn't the case.

So basically, we need to stick
R&F out there seperate from O&A (Cause there're better, in my
opinion) and start something up.

Why not bumper stickers?

by the way I'm tanked so if this post is a little eratic, you'll understand why.

Hard Work may pay off in the Long run.... BUT LAZINESS PAYS OFF RIGHT NOW !!!!!

Are
we talking Hugh Jackman proportions or Hugh Grant proportions? I
could see the former but the latter is just asking too much.
I put a line about Ron and Fez in my doctoral thesis which now sits
forever in the Princeton University archive library so I'm doing my
part. ;)
Trent Steel.you're a thinking man for sure.I think we both want good
things for R&F and can do a little in our own ways to promote the
show.I also have been mulling over a few different angles, but won't go
into details until I'm a little more "thought out".This is unusual for
me since I'm impulsive with creative ideas, and the quality is lower as
a trade-off for high volume.I just wanted to let you know I support you
care and effort and will keep reading your posts more closely for
follow-up ideas.Thanks,Jerry. :)
Did you at least ask for a reach around while you were blowing him and typing that post?

I'm taking O& A,and especially Anthony at their words that it's all about Family Values when you are talking about the really big numbers, new car buyers, and NON-east or west coasties. The fact that XM has no desire to attract more of us degenerates who seek out nasty language ,risque humor, ribald subject matter etc is good business sense.Opie is especially vocal about how Sirius is wasting big money on big names, and some of which will fall flat(Martha Stewart).Anthony has pretty much decided that the market is what it is and is disappointed that they get shuffled by XM and mishandled. It's making O&A rich, but they genuinely sound frustrated by the whole mess. The whole pest campaign is best illustrated NOW with stickers and assaults on media and parties, still some remote appearances like rallies. R&F fans, perhaps older in general(my guess) more mass appeal for the over 40 generation and less vocal, less fanatical, just as loyal, and now with the new listeners R&F seem a little less abrasive than O&A to females. Stern,by contrast is far more offensive to mainstream women than both shows(my opinion). My offhand observation is that Howard makes himself a target for the other media as the worst case scenario bad boy,and it's easy to love or hate him from latching on to your fave convictions and see Howie make fun of them. He's made a living from celebrities besides humor, making himself "IN" with the "IN" crowd, giving him a measure of celebrity and UPPING the PRICE on his head. His well-known insecurities propelled him to overcompensate, costing him his marriage and coming out against BUSH made him an instant PUBIC ENEMA #1....forcing him off the air (terrestrial radio). Freedom of speech is a farce.

Goddam, Jerry. That was a pretty good post. But I had to read it 3 times.

Most people here won't tolerate crammed sentences, poor spacing, and general typing fuck-ups. If you could work on your structure and general readability, you would get a more positive response.

This is not to shoot you down, just some constructive critism.
