I think it started around the time when WNEW started up, he lost Jackie and his divorce all hit.  He had attained a lot of entertainment status, and that's around the time he started to get really paranoid.So I'd say like 5 years ago.

I think it started around the time when WNEW started up, he lost Jackie and his divorce all hit.  He had attained a lot of entertainment status, and that's around the time he started to get really paranoid.So I'd say like 5 years ago.that's when it peaked, coupled with the jay leno angle as well ...i remember the gimmick earlier with dibella, ron & ron, mark & brian, mancow, brother weaze & politically incorrect ...my guess is 15-20 years ...the clip that o&a play/parody is a couple of years old

WOW, that long ago?  I started listening to Stern in the mid to late 90's and I don't remember him being like this at all.  I guess he was just funny back then so you didn't notice the "Ripped me off" talk as much.  He sucks now so you notice it.

Anyone who listens/used to listen to Stern knows that Fred doesn't talk much so that is probably not something he would say very often. That adds one more layer of funny to me when O&A play that clip.Otherwise I think Stern has been doing that "I invented that" thing for as long as he's been syndicated. It started to get really bad a few years back, but he's been claiming to invent stuff for a long time. My favorite is when I heard him accuse Jimmy Kimmel of ripping off his idea of playing Bingo (Stern played "Bango" to give away a sex act, Jimmy actually played the game "Bingo" which I'm pretty sure Stern didn't invent, and I don't think Jimmy was giving away a sex act)

Stern was talking about people ripping him off for as far back as I can
remember (mark & brian, rick dees, etc.).  When Howard said he
invented Wow 3-5 years ago, he said "Tell 'em Fred."  That clip
gets played often during breaks.

Mojo has the best Stern analysis ever by asserting that Stern has become the new version of Imus.  That pretty much sums everything up right there.

Did he actually call R&F by there name's when he said that?i belive stern made an obvious joke/comment that the guest mentioned that he was on a radio show ealier, and they asked the same thing ... stern went on one of his rants, and gary came in to remind that R&F were once FLA's Ron & Ron, and the rant's scope grew a bit wider ... i love R&F's retort of the baby drops ... it was the only time ron seem to loose his composure before last spring's retort of cameron's phone call ...

Another guy said that Paul was on the Ron and Fez show yesterday talking about this stuff so he thinks that Howard is now ripping them off... even though Howard has been mentioning that he'd be a guest for weeks now. I've been reluctant to ask this because I didn't want to seem stupid (moreso) but...Can someone please explain what exactly "hoo hoo" means?  I know Stern continually claims credit for "inventing" stuff but what does the "hoo hoo" part mean?

Oh speaking of afflection.  He says "Robin" (Raw-Bin), like he has at least 2 sets of balls in his mouth.  Hmmm.   that would be Gary's and Fred's.  Crazy rich or not, fuck-nut at least has to know that he has ridden the talent of his people for 10 years.  They are the only reason the show doesn't have less ratings than Imus.  (Though Imus is better.)

I listen to Stern and I enjoy his show.  I've heard the clip of him saying he invented a WOW like promotion and I didn't buy it.But this morning was unbelievable.  O&A talked about it as well.He claimed to have invented the act of bands coming into radio stations and playing acoustic songs - even saying that MTV took his idea for Unplugged.I actually yelled at the radio "What the hell are talking about?!"  And no one called him on it.  He really did sound delusional.
