You got it in you.

Play that track now, and tell me I'm wrong!

We can talk lyrics later. Let's honor the man for now.

And that was a great bit Tenbats. It seems that the man enjoyed a joke, so I don't think he'd mind us having some fun with his later years.

Does anyone else remember him as a fighter? Not just as an old man
with Parkinsons? (Although I must admit I thought he was as heroic with
his disease as he ever was in the ring. And he was VERY heroic in the
ring)

I remember watching him fight as a kid, usually on Ch7 (Wide
World of Sports). Punching bags like Jerry Quarry, and Randy "Tex"
Cobb. Both of whom he beat to a bloody mess. Best fight I saw live with
him was vs Ernie Shavers, who had a punch like a mule kick. Great
fight. Second Spinks fight was good too.

I've since watched everything going back to Sonny Liston. He
really was "The Greatest" if you look at the whole package. He never
had a great knockout punch, but in his youth he had very fast hands,
and was very elusive. He also had more ring savvy than any other
fighter I've ever seen. He was also a great entertainer. Before,
during, and after the fight.

When he beat Liston, Liston
was considered unbeatable. Like Tyson was in his prime. He then gets
locked up for 3 years, comes back and does the same thing to George
Foreman, who was also considered unbeatable. To put Foreman in context,
he knocked out guys like Joe Frazier in a few rounds. Guys who went the
distance with Ali. So nobody gave Ali a chance, and he made a complete
fool of Foreman. Amazing.

If they replay it anytime soon, definitely try to watch "When we were Kings" Great movie.

Remember when Ali and Superman fought to save the Earth from the Star-Warriors? Ali would have won if Superman hadn't hit him with so many low blows.

I wish I was around to remember Ali like most of you. The only stuff on him I've seen was one replay of his fight with Foreman. I don't know why, but I remember stopping on the fight and watching it. It was a really good fight, and I'm not a sports fan at all. The man had something.

And just bringing the name Muhammed into White America's livingrooms was a great move in and of itself.

moment is what is remembered most about the fight. He knocks (an

But he holds it, like the moment is so perfect and he just doesn't want

The report I read said that these reports are based on statements made by his daughter. His wife says they aren't true. I wish him luck. He's a very nice man.
