I thought I brought up resistance in microbes found in hospitals, but again, when on-air national, the brain tends to fart quite a bit. I was trying not to be bone-crushingly boring, which is very easy to do discussing this.

Technically, none of the 3 songs about Fatty Pneumonia played yesterday are parody songs, since a parody song employs the use of a pre-existing song as its vehicle. Staples' was an actual parody song.

here's a good definition, w/in a lotta legal blather, from Luther Campbell's (2 Live Crew) Attorney during his Supreme Court case regarding 2 Live Crew's "fair use" of the Roy Orbison song "Pretty Woman."

(b) Parody, like other comment and criticism, may claim fair use. Under the first of the four 107 factors, "the purpose and Page II character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature . . .," the enquiry focuses on whether the new work merely supersedes the objects of the original creation, or whether and to what extent it is "transformative," altering the original with new expression, meaning, or message. The more transformative the new work, the less will be the significance of other factors, like commercialism, that may weigh against a finding of fair use. The heart of any parodist's claim to quote from existing material is the use of some elements of a prior author's composition to create a new one that, at least in part, comments on that author's work. But that tells courts little about where to draw the line. Thus, like other uses, parody has to work its way through the relevant factors. Pp. 8-12.

Eastern European, and proud !!!

It's actually Paulie. At the end of Tuesday's show, Paulie took some shots at having to work security with Master Po, and stating that he would rather work "for the show". Master Po took umbrage with that, and Wicky told him that he needed to apologize. His apology was kind of mealy-mouthed, so no they are making him do pushups.

Might I add that this would be an optimal time for people to dig into old segments in the file library...

this is weird. i definitely remember Ron asking Fez yesterday
(thurs) if he was going to have a few drinks on tomorrow's (friday)
show. i wonder if October 23 was really November 11 in Fezzy's
dream!?!
fatty out.

I could listen to this Anthony Bourdain interview anytime. One of the best things they did so far at XM.

Bummer. I was hoping for a Fez Drinking Show, as hinted at by Ron yesterday. Anyone know what's up yet?

One of my first clues should have been when Fez plugged the listening thread on ronfez.net.

Seriously, though, this is a really good best of. Very, very funny stuff. Hell, they had best of material after the first friggin week. I had just relistened to this interview again this morning on the way into work, but hey - shit happens. I's just bummed because Fridays is the only day I can listen to the entire show live.

I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...

It would be great if Mon-Thurs, they did the show at 11am, but on
Fridays, if they did a midnight show, where they could really let loose
with some drinking and such.
