View Full Version : When is enough...enough?

So everyday I see the same people arguing their cases for the left or right, talking about the issues, etc. But I rarely hear anyone actually bring accountability into the matter? Maybe in isolated incidents towards one person or group of people... but it never seems to go where the burden deserves... the general population. We've seen terror attacks, poor social standards, failing economy, attacks on foreign nations, etc... and although we hear people argue back and forth about such issues, it's merely a slight portion of the population interested, involved or even aware. So my question is, regardless of your political vantage point or perspectives on specific issues, isn't there a point when enough is enough and no matter what our government does or doesn't do, should the burden fall upon the people who let the situation become so overtly out of control? I for one, always will hold my beliefs dear and continue to try and make things better as I see fit, but at the same point, sometimes in life, people dig their own graves. I think the US population is so apathetic and uncaring, it deserves what is waged upon it. Whether it's terror attacks, poor education, health care, social security, security, etc... I don't wish for bad things to occur, but to ignore the realities of the world and our government's role in it is merely ignoring the truth of the situation. I've come to a point in my life, where I think enough is enough and if people want to walk down such a path, whatever may lie there is of their own doings. Anyone feel the same or have any comments?

needs to be another Revolution... there is no stop in the increasing amount of people entering poverty and the increase in wealth for the few. sounds like a broken record but it's a fact. people tend to ask the people at the bottom to adjust their standard of living but it seems nobody asks the people at the top to adjust their standard of living

Well, once the people on the extreme right (ahem, who is in charge now) see that in order for us to move forward, socially evolve and meld into a working, fair species that could quite possibly survive into the next century, they have to get with the times. As soon as that happens, all will be fine!

People still really believe George Bush is extreme right-wing? That's cute. He's not as centrist as Clinton, but he's far, FAR from the hard right.

BTW, way to totally miss Five's point, which was that both Republicans AND Democrats share blame for the current political climate, so maybe it's time for the people to cease their apathy and take back control from the idealogues of BOTH parties.

That's far from the same thing. I also, never said I don't care, I specifically said "I for one, always will hold my beliefs dear and continue to try and make things better as I see fit, but at the same point, sometimes in life, people dig their own graves. I don't know what "self-seriousness" really is, but I think it's fair to say from my post that I care about the state of my country and am speaking from the heart. I don't how to say it any clearer, than I've already done.

Thanks Mojo.

It never ceases to amaze me that no matter the situation and circumstance, people always are quick to point fingers to bolster their own side. Our nation is so busy blaming everyone else, it takes place of finding real and necessary solutions (no matter what the problem is). For all the talk people love to bolster about how we're all one nation, and come together during tradegy, it's a passing moment and forgotten only used to pursue some larger, previously thought out agenda or idea. It's a big sham and the longer people continuing down this path, the longer they'll suffer the sins they beset upon themselves.

This country will be destroyed if things continue the way there are going, What saddens me most is the politicalization of every issue as either being right or left. The fact that Tom Delay got the judge tasked to his case removed because of polictical donations is a prime example of this in action.
